Thread repairfor damaged oil drain threads

After tapping the HELICOIL® plus thread, you have to use the slide gauge to find out how many turns theHELICOIL® plus thread insert needs. In the exampleshown 8.5 turns are needed for a thread size of M 14 x 1.5.

A table (see installationdescription) is used toselect the HELICOIL® pluswith the appropriatenumber of turns “T”.If necessary, theHELICOIL® plus is trimmedto the right number ofturns using the edgecutter.

Once the thread has beenrepaired with theHELICOIL® plus and thetang has been broken off,you will be left with aperfect and heavy dutythread again.There are no edges,which means that the oilcan drain away freely.

An adequate sealing ringsupport is available forstandard plugs with collar.
