Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Community, Again the Term is flying by – it is week 7 of a 10 week term so not too long to go before the next school holidays. 2019 Eisteddfod -Under Mrs Costanzo’s expert guidance the students have again come 1st Place in the ‘Very, Very Small Schools Choir’ section of the ‘Taree and District Eisteddfod’. Well done everyone you are all legends! The school garden is beginning to look refreshed and productive as Meaghan and the children have worked hard digging, weeding and planting over the last few weeks. The worm farm is now back in operation as well, thank you Gwen for nurturing the worms back into health. The Athletics Carnival is to be held on Thursday 27th June with the backup date being Tuesday 2nd July. The YPEP program is now up and running and will continue for the next two weeks. Keep warm everyone! Please don't hesitate to call the school on 65505147 with any queries or questions. Diane Myer Principal

Absentee Notes
At a recent Department of Education meeting, the need for schools to document student absence explanations was heavily emphasised. As a result the school will be contacting parents if absences are unexplained. You can send in a note explaining your child's absence when they return to school, call the school or email [email protected]. Everyone is usually great with this, so thank you.
Winter Lunch Heat Ups Now that the temperature is dropping a warm lunch every now and then is very welcomed. On Fridays Berni is happy to heat up any student lunches in the microwave. If you have any tasty leftovers or soups send them a long.
Bus Driver Needed.
Expressions of interest are requested for a driver for our school excursion to Sydney. Leaving on the 27th August, returning on the 29th August. Driver must hold a LR licence and a current Working With Children Check. Please contact the school if interested on 6550 5147
Plastic Bottle Top Collection Former Bobin student Zoe Hatton is collecting plastic bottle top lids on behalf of Wingham High School. The collection is for Helping Hands Envision, based in Melbourne, who turn the plastic bottle top lids into prosthetic limbs for children in disadvantaged countries. The bottle top lids are melted down into beads then woven into a thin plastic that can be used in 3-D printing. Donations of plastic bottle top lids can be left at Bobin School office and will go to a great cause!
Woolworths Earn & Learn
Bobin School is now registered for the Woolworths Earn & Learn. Stickers can be dropped into the office at any time.
Book Club LOOP Online Orders Recently we have been having problems having all LOOP orders transfer to the school account. If you do order using the LOOP online platform please email the school to let us know so we can make sure all orders are accounted for. Scholastic assure me that they will correct the problem but in the meantime please advise us of any orders directly.

CHOCOLATE BLOCKS & BLISTERS Believe it or not, we have signed up to do something slightly crazy. Mirjam, Vera, Lin and Tanya are planning to do the 2019 Oxfam Trailwalk in August. We will walk 100kms from the Hawkesbury River to Manly in 48hrs!! Well at least that is the plan. We want to show our kids that it is possible to do the seemingly impossible and we also want to raise some funds. Our target is $15000! $10000 from our KDPD Campaign and $5000 from miscellaneous fundraising. “In 100 days, we will walk 100kms, if 100 people, donate $100 dollars, we can create many more than 100 smiles.” If you would like to be one of the chosen who make this happen, please visit our team space at https://trailwalker.oxfam.org.au/my/team/34689 We know that not everyone has a spare $100 in their petty cash, so please check out how even the smallest donation can make a HUGE difference to someone’s life at https://trailwalker.oxfam.org.au/fundraising/the-difference-you-make/ , make your own difference. To make supporting us even easier, we have a big box of Oxfam Fairtrade Organic Chocolate – FOR SALE, at the school office. A 50g bar is $2 and/or a 90g block is $4. Both dark chocolate and milk chocolate are available. We have done the taste test and the chocolate is seriously good. The Dark chocolate is also dairy free. Follow our blog, see our progress and IF we actually do cross the line here - https://trailwalker.oxfam.org.au/my/teamspace/blogs
Thank you so much for your support, wish us luck and a ‘blister free’ walk. Yours in hiking boots, “The Wandering Weave” PS We are also keen to secure some corporate sponsorship. We want to give all the big name corporate teams a run for their money on the fundraising leader board. If you know anyone with a stash of EOFY cash that needs a good home, please let us know. Sweet-Pea & Mumma: Upstairs at ‘A Little To The Left Studio’ – Taree Refashion Not Throw Away Join us in the War Against Waste (especially textile waste) 3rd Wednesday every month 10am – 3pm – $50 for 5 hours, bookings essential, 0414 874 162 Bring your own machine and let us help you refashion your clothes.
