Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Kinder 2014 Transition This week we again welcomed our Kindergarten students for 2014. It was wonderful to see the high level of confidence and independence of these little people.
We look forward to meeting with them again on Thursday 21st of November for the Kindy Go Day.
New students sequenced ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’
and cut and pasted flowers and bees for the rhyme ‘A Bee Sat On My Nose’.
Sadie Green—Highly Commended Akshay and Arman in 2JLS helped make ‘Sadie
GREEN’ (a cleaning lady who uses environmentally friendly products) to be entered in the scarecrow competition at the Sustainability Fair held at the Botanic Gardens on Sunday. Costa from the ABC’s Gardening
Australia program judged the competition and awarded our Sadie a Highly Commended for her design and the very important environmental message she had with her. We have the choice to use environmentally
friendly cleaning products instead of products containing chemicals that have long lasting effect on our environment. Sadie will be seen around our school with very important messages.
Stage 3 2014 Sydney excursion Tuesday 25th March-Friday 28th March 2014
Planning has been completed for this excursion next year. Just a reminder that $200 must be paid by the end of this year then a further $200 will be required to be paid at the start of 2014. If you can afford to pay
extra this year you can certainly do this through the office. Thank you Mrs Phillips

The Beach A beach has sand and water. The water is very cold. The
water is saltwater. .The crabs dig a little hole in the sand. The Pelican catch fish in the deep spots. You can see fish in the clear water. Sometimes you can see wobbly jelly fish . There is a creaky board walk . You
can see fish and chip shops. You can build sand castles. You can swim in the water. You can scuba dive. You can jump off the jetty. By Laughlin McPhee 2JLS
The Ocean
In the ocean there are waves and big currents. Also
there are big and little shells. Also in the ocean there is
enormous seaweed. The sand on the bottom of the sea
is very brown. In the ocean there are Octopuses,
Whales, Turtles and Sharks. The animals make different
noises. The whales make a lullaby noise. Fish make
bubbles in their mouth. Humans can go scuba diving
and swimming and diving off rocks. Humans usually go
fishing in the ocean and sometimes they catch fish.
There are also starfish, sea urchins and coral. By Gabby

Uniforms A reminder to parents that jewellery is not part of our
school uniform. A watch and small stud or sleeper type earrings are fine. Students wearing additional jewellery to school will be asked to remove the piece and place it in their school bag.
Some students are also continuing to wear coloured shoes to school. I appreciate that these shoes are fashionable but they are not school uniform. Please
ensure your child has black shoes for school. It will be an expectation that students are in correct school uniform for the end of the year Presentation Assembly on Monday 16th December. For parents investing in shoes
over the holidays please purchase more robust leather style joggers. Black canvas shoes are impractical and not suitable for school.
Support the School By voting at GreatBakeSale.com.au you will give the
school the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes.
