I was impressed by the level of thoroughness and professional discussion that was conducted by all staff. Stage 3 will be participating in a cyber safety session on Monday. It is being conducted by Police Youth Liaision Officer, Jo Brookes. It is vitally important that we are all well informed about the dangers of being online and how to be safe. We ask that no child be at school before 8.30am as teachers don’t officially commence duty until that time. The bell to start school rings at 8.50am. Please make sure your child is at school before that time to assist us with our no interruptions policy. No Interruptions Policy This term we are trying to implement a school wide policy to allow for learning to continue and progress uninterrupted. This has been going well. Students will remain in class and will only leave the classroom if they are sick, injured or need to go to the toilet. The office won’t be running messages before 1pm to ensure the quality learning environment is maintained. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2016 Class Requisites Last week we sent invoices home for all outstanding class requisite payments for each family. Class requisites are the essential tools students will need during the year to support learning. The requisite fee covers the packs all the students were issued with at the beginning of the school year. In the packs each student received their school books and classroom materials to assist in their learning. The cost of requisites for Kinder is $50.00 each child and Year 1 to 6 is $65.00 each child. If you have not paid these yet, please make payment by Friday, 18th November 2016. A massive thank you to all our families who have already paid. “Day For Daniel!” There was a sea of red at our school today for the “Day for Daniel”. Look out for next week’s back page for some lovely pictures. Our students wrote “Day for Daniel” in chalk and covered it with the coins everyone donated. Thank you for your wonderful donations and support. Kinder Dolphin Marine Magic Excursion As part of our Save Our Seas unit, Kindergarten went on their excursion to Dolphin Marine Magic. During our time there we learnt all about the different ways we can look after our sea life to ensure their survival. Later on in the term Kindergarten will also be participating in the ‘Seal the Loop’ program which will see our Kindergartens design a poster to go with a fishing line bin at Boambee Beach. Stay tuned for more details. Year 3 and 4 Bongil Bongil National Park Excursion As part of our Bridges unit of work, Year 3 and 4 will visit the Bongil Bongil National Park to assess the design of the Bonville Creek train bridge. Students will gather information to design an appropriate footbridge to cross Bonville Creek from the picnic area. This excursion will be held on Wednesday, 2nd November. The cost is $6.00 per student which covers the bus and a sausage sizzle lunch. Bus Travelling Information for 2017 If your child is starting Kinder next year, going from Year 2 to 3 or from Year 6 to 7 a new bus application form needs to be completed. A reminder if you have any concerns about your child’s bus safety, please contact the relevant bus company. All bus applications are completed online by going to transportnsw.info/school-students.
