Dear Parishioners:

Your parish leaders, especially the Finance Council, have worked very hard in preparing a budget for the new fiscal year that began July 1, 2021. (The fiscal year runs from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.) In addition, we have carefully prepared a construction budget for Phase II of the Built of Living Stones project. I am very grateful to all who have lent their considerable talents to the work of this new budget.

For the past four years, we have needed to reach these weekly tithing amounts:

$7,500 (2018)

$9,000 (2019)

$9,000 (2020)

$9,000 ( 2021)

As you can see, we have not raised our weekly budget needs for several years. In order to fund all the ministries at Holy Savior for this new fiscal year, we will need to receive $11,000 each week in the collection. I ask that each parishioner give back a portion of what God has given to you in gratitude for all that He has done for you. I have always marveled at your generosity and ask that you continue to give back in proportion to what God has given you. Christ's peace to you.

Fr. James Billinger

FROM THE PASTOR

PARISH LIFE FIAT - Mary, the First Disciple Today’s gospel from Luke depicts Mary as the very first Missionary Disciple! She traveled to her cousin’s house “in haste” and literally takes Jesus to Elizabeth. Elizabeth’s response is one of pure joy, and Mary is overcome by her own humility. She understands the greatness of the task set before her. She understands that her blessedness is not for her own glory, but for that of God the Father. How does this compare to our own discipleship? Let us look to our Blessed Mother as the perfect example! Do we carry Jesus to others with the same eagerness? Do we recognize the many ways God has blessed and prepared us for the task? Do we see our discipleship as a way to glorify God in Heaven? Today, as we celebrate Mary’s assumption into heaven, let’s pray that God will give us the grace, confidence, and endurance to carry out our discipleship as she did! THE BLUE MASS Bishop Kemme invites all First Responders to The Blue Mass at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday, September 12, 2021 @ 8:30am. After mass, there will be a reception in Good Shepherd Hall for all First Responders, their families and guests. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) Do you have questions about the Catholic faith, the Pope, the Mass, the Sacraments or the Saints? Attending RCIA may be just for you, a family member or a friend. To register for classes or for more information, contact the parish office at 682-8712.
