THE DESIGNObjective:

o To create visual interest and aesthetics to the Black Wall by creating Moss Art

o This design uses natural elements such as Moss to create a unique focal point for the Black Wall

o The benefits of this design include that it is sustainable, helps the environment and provides aesthetics to the space

o This design is appropriate for the Northwest region of Ohio because Moss can endure and live in extreme temperatures while also having minimal maintenance

WHAT IS MOSS ART? oMoss Art is the use of the familiar plant that often grows in swamps and on trees used to created artwork on walls instead of graffiti

oWhen Moss is combined with a few simple ingredients it can create a a paint-like substance that can easily decorate a wall

oMoss art is good for the environment and a unique design method for the outdoors

THE GREEN EFFECT

o A Natural alternative to providing art and design to an outdoor space

o A sustainable plant that can live through warm and cold conditions

o Moss can be found locally and is easily accessible

o Helps environment around itself by being a repellant towards certain insects and providing plants more oxygen

ACTION PLANo Create and print templates used for the word outlines on the

wall

o Place outlines on the chicken wire and cut them out

o Adhere the wire to the walls with a staple gun

o Create Moss paint mixture by blending 2 handfuls of Moss (per paint batch), 2 cups of Buttermilk, and ½ teaspoon of Sugar in a blender and then add Corn Syrup as needed

o After mixture is complete use paint brushes to paint the mixture onto chicken wire

o Continuously spray water onto the Moss Art on a weekly basis

o After 3-4 weeks watch the Moss Art form
