The BITSAA Leadership Program

ObjectiveTo identify passionate BITSians and nurture them as the next generation of BITSAA Leaders

– The Program is a chance for BITSians to showcase their leadership while giving back to the BITSAA community

– An opportunity to be part of a Global Organization where cross functional teams work together across time zones to realize ideas into action



BITSAA International – What do we do?

• Maximize the potential of BITSians and BITS Pilani• Make BITSAA the best and most well networked alumni

community in the world• Positively enhance BITSians’ professional and personal lives• Give back to BITS Pilani to strengthen the infrastructure,

student exposure and quality of education



What have we done?

• BITSConnect: BITSAA raised $700,000+ to wire the BITS Pilani campus with state-of-the-art networking infrastructure

• In 2009, BITSAA raised around $100,000 to support various BITSAA Initiatives

• BITSAA raised around $14,721 to support Anitha Ashokan (’04 Instru) who had a serious illness

• BITSAA helped economically disadvantaged Nagesh, the Andhra Board topper, to join BITS Pilani

• BITSAA supported Team Acyut and Automized Minds, two BITSian Teams, to win awards in Robo Games at San Francisco

• All positions are for a two-year term• Upon successful completion of the two-year terms

• Directors move up to CEO, CFO, CTO, COO and CIO positions• Managers move up to Director positions



Technology Team

• Transform BITSAA.org portal into a vibrant global community of BITSians

• Develop innovative applications for BITSAA Teams and initiatives

• Provide timely support to new BITSian initiatives

• Provide technology to power BITSAA’s social media like Twitter, Newsletter etc, publish web-version of Sandpaper 2.0

Alumni Membership Team

• Increase Membership of BITSAA Alumni Directory & Portal

• Membership Drives - Conduct membership drives across batches, chapters and in BITSian events

• Membership Verification with the help of Batch and Chapter Administrators

• Conduct Membership Approval of verified members

Campus Relations Team

• Coordination between BITSAA International Teams and the OAA at BITS campuses

• Liaison with the BITS administration through OAA

• Align BITSAA priorities to that of BITS Pilani campuses

• Drive Campus Communication• Recruit Leaders’ from campuses• Conduct Back to BITS:

• Handle all strategic communication of BITSAA International

the BITSian Universe regarding Alumni events, news.

Fundraising Team

• Raise funds to support BITSian initiatives and causes

• Leverage Tax Exempt Status (in US and India) to increase alumni contributions for BITSians and BITS Pilani

• Conduct Fundraising Drives• Advertising and Sponsorship on

bitsaa.org• Sell BITSAA Merchandise through

eStore USA and eStore India Telethons , Fundraisers , e-store ..
