Its main purpose is to help prevent oxida$ve stress. This is accomplished both in body $ssues and in the skin. In the skin the main effect of Ubiquinol is to protect damage against UV rays and pollu$on. Topical applica$on allows a greater concentra$on in the skin than oral supplements alone. There have been several studies showing the adequate absorp$on of topically applied ubiquinone and its effects on both photo protec$on and improvement of overall skin quality. Thus, COQ10 deriva$ves are found in many high end skin care products.
Forms of Vitamin K may be applied topically, typically as a cream, to diminish postopera$ve bruising from cosme$c surgery and injec$ons, broken capillaries (spider veins), to treat rosacea and to aid the fading of hyperpigmenta$on
Skin Problems Vitamin K can be used to help heal scars, suture marks, spider veins and bruising. The NIH states it is also used to help smooth stretch marks and burns in its topical form. Although the exact amount of effec$veness hasn't been established, the NIH notes the topical use with the caveat that it hasn't been proven as posi$vely as for blood coagula$on. The topical form has also been used in easing skin itching due to the liver disease biliary cirrhosis, according to the NIH.
