Let them know it’s okay to grieve
Grief is a normal and natural reaction to a lossof any kind.
Grief is the conflicting feelings caused by theend of or change in a familiar pattern of behaviour.
Give your child a safe space to talk andencourage them to share their feelings
Let them know that there feeling are valid, and itis okay to feel sad and disappointed.
Check in with your child over the coming weeksto give them space to continue sharing their feelings if they want to.
Encourage them to draw their feelings if themdon’t want to talk.
Avoid promises to make it up to them later
It’s tempting, but we aren’t sure what measuresthe government will need to take after the isolation period.
Don't make promises you may not be able to keep.
Pray with them
Let them tell God how they feel.
Ask God to bring them comfort in their sadnessand disappointment.
