MoU between BIFT and NIFT

General, NIFT respectively signed the agreement at Prime Ministers office

BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT), Dhaka -

Bangladesh has recently signed a Memorandum of

Understanding (MoU) on Academic Cooperation with National

Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, India on 6th

September, 2011 at Prime Ministers Office Dhaka Bangladesh.

The agreement was signed between Ms. Monika Garg, Director

General, NIFT and Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique President,

Governing Body - BIFT on behalf of their respective institutions.

Batexpo 2011The three day event Batexpo-2011 began in Dhaka on 10 th

December, 2011 at Bangabandhu International Conference

Centre. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the event.

There was a huge participation in the Batexpo-2011, although the

world is passing through an economic slump.

The creative designs of this Batexpo collection were endeavor of

the BIFT students which was shown in Batexpo fashion show.

SDC Intl Design Competition 2011, Hong Kong

Winner, 1st Runner up & 2nd Runner up with Chairman, Vice-chairman and

Seminar on How to Improve Quality in Clothing Industry Organized by BIFTA one day Seminar was organized by BIFT in the Center for Export and Product Development (CEPD) on 26 July 2011 to

emphasize how to improve Quality in Clothing Industry at the BGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology (BIFT) as part of

UNIDO implemented Better Work in Textiles & Garments Program (BWTG) under Better and Standard (BEST) Program funded

by EU & NORAD.

India Delegates visit BIFT

July 2011.

The visit was part of a continuing cooperation between the two

institutions on academic issues for higher professional education.

Visitors discussed on how to develop academic and professional

excellence and exchange of faculties, students and research staff,

curriculum and product design development, joint exhibition and

other activities between the two institutions.

Fresher Reception ofB.Sc (Hons)-111

Batch Students

The Fresher Reception of B.Sc (Hons) Batch students ofBGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology (BIFT) were

held on 5th December 2011 in the BIFT Auditorium, Uttara,

Dhaka.

Former Presidents of BGMEA Mr. Mostofa Golam Quddus,

Mr. Kazi Moniruzzaman were the chief guest and Special

guests respectively. The program was chaired by Mr

Mozaffar U. Siddique, President of the Governing Body,

BIFT. The chief guest and special guest appreciated to see

the unique development of BIFT and assured all out co-

operations to build BIFT a centre of Excellence. The

program included distribution of prizes among the students

in different events and cultural program. The vote of thanks

was given by Col.Md. Mosharof Hossain (Retd), Principal,

BIFT.

Pattern Construction and Pattern ProductionTraining program at BIFT

A Eight day training on Pattern Construction and Pattern Production from

06th September to 13th September 2011 was organized at the BGMEA

Institute of Fashion & Technology (BIFT) as part of UNIDO implemented

Better Work in Textiles & Garments Program (BWTG) under Better and

Standard (BEST) Program funded by EU & NORAD.

European Union delegates visit BIFT campus

Mr. Douglas McLure, Independent EU Monitoring Programme Asiaand central Asia, Ms. Monira Rahman, representative from UNIDO andMr. Lutfur Kabir, Senior Advisor, giz visited BIFT main campus, Uttara,Dhaka on 25th October, 2011.

Exciting Football Match

BIFT Faculties / Officers Vs StudentsAn exciting Football match between faculties / officials and students of BGMEA Institution of Fashion & Technology (BIFT) was held on

24th November, 2011 at Uttara Kalyan Shomitee play ground, Uttara, Dhaka organized by the students of 092 batches. The match wasinaugurated by Col Md. Mosharrof Hossain (Retd), Principal, BIFT. Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, President, BIFT was present as chief guest inthe football match. The 092 batch became winner by beating faculties / officials of BIFT in the tiebreaker.

day training program. A total of forty participants including

BIFT faculties & officials; technical experts from the different

garment industries attended the training program.

Workshop on Sewing Technology held at BIFT

Col.Md. Mosharof Hossain (Retd), Principal o f BIFT addressing in the workshop

Organ Needle Company Ltd., Japan a renowned manufacturer of

Organ brand industrial sewing machine needles whose exclusivagent in Bangladesh is General Business Co. organized a workshopon Sewing Technology for final year AMT, KMT and FDTstudents held on 16th November, 2011 at BIFT auditorium. From

this workshop the students of BIFT could learn about the varioustypes of sewing problems and counter measures for them and howto use the perfect needle for various fabrics, design, so that theycould utilize their knowledge in the professional field.
