Thorn had a pretty nice outlook on Isnit, especially for anewcomer, who wasn't comfortable anywhere but somewhereisolated. Her luck wasn't the best, but the alcohol was goodenough, and she had found a new toy... It was shiny and new, though the owner would probably not recognize it. Instead of being a plain silver bicycle, she added a few touches of paintbefore showing it to anyone. It had black and white stripes andsplotches, carefully placed to make it look intentional. It didn'tseem like work that a quick thief could do, but there it was, asshe pushed it to the middle of the street.

"Alright...now let's see how it works..."

Never having seen one of the weird things before Isnit, sheknew only a few basic things. People could ride them, and theycould use the brake to stop, sometimes not even pedaling asthey went down a hill. It was neat, and the half-demon had totry it on her own.

The kickstand wasn't complicated, and Thorn figured it outeasily, kicking it up. Next, she threw her leg over it, balancingherself as her tail moved up, away from the tire. She didn'tneed any problems there. Finally, she gave a sigh, lifting up aswell as she could, pushing at a pedal with her right foot, andthen the other with her left. Suddenly, she started moving, though it didn't last long. After about two feet, the bike toppled, landing on its side. Thorn didn't even move, her eyes wide withsurprise. What happened?!

Roman hadn’t really done much since the day he arrived in thestrange world of Isnit. He’d had his wounds tended to, and hadmade a few acquaintances. Remembering his encounters causedhim to shake his head, barest of amused smiles on his face. They’d all been weird, but in a good way. The Fallen Angelsighed, coming across the Town Square he’d come to the otherday. Seeing as how he lacked housing, he’d come back everyother day or so in hopes of finding a job.

He sighed again, brown eyes following some humanoids as theypassed him. Some females would stop and smile flirtatiously, but all he’d do was nod briefly to them in turn before continuing

was something the half demon couldn't stand.

"Thank you for helping me up, but I don't need to be taught athing. And I'm no Sweetheart."

With a head tilt, she would reach down, to set the bike back up,

ready to show him. She'd get it. Taking a shiny, silver flask from

her cloak, she took a gulp, before storing it away. Getting backonto the contraption, Thorn started, pushing at the pedals, though her tail wouldn't stay straight as she took off. Once

again, the bike toppled. This time, the female growled, kickingit away as she sat up, now a brighter red than ever. Why was it

so hard?

He smiled slightly, his old not-there smirk sliding back intoplace at the female’s facial expression. She’d heard himlaughing. That much was obvious. Still, he felt a little bad forlaughing at her, so he had to find a way to get her to let himhelp, right? Roman’s eyebrow was raised slightly as he took inher blush and tail whipping about. Hmm. Not a happy bugger, now was she? Idiot. You laughed at her. No wonder she’s pissed. He chastised himself, clasping her hand and tugging

lightly to help her up.

Once the demon was on her feet he backed up a bit, cheektwitching as he fought a smile at her growl. Not only pissed, buta bit feisty, eh? No matter. If she didn’t want his help, shewouldn’t mind him watching her then. She was one of the moreinteresting things around here. He crossed his arms over hischest, wincing heavily when his scabbed back tugged painfully. His expression was quickly controlled, so that it would appearthat he’d merely twitched. To her response he shrugged, anticipating the pain and keeping his face carefully cool to avoidshowing his weakness.

” No prob, but it looks like you need help. Whatever, though. If you don’t want my help, then you can keepfalling over. Doesn’t bother me much.” Though it did, honestly. He didn’t like being useless, or feeling useless for thatmatter. BUT again. It wasn’t his choice. Roman raised hiseyebrow again at her tone and ‘not being a Sweetheart’ comment. Pfft. Whatever you say. He shook his head, steppingback a bit more and shoving his hands in his pockets; a muchmore comfortable stance for his healing back.

Roman tilted his head curiously as she took a swig from a flask, watching with a glimmer in his eyes similar to a raven’s as shepocketed it once more. What was in that? The Former Angel hadnever heard of alcohol, seeing as how it wasn’t around on his

home Planet. He snorted as he watched her mount the bikeagain, tossing his head slightly to get his white bangs from hiseyes. She’s going to fall in three…two…one…. He closed one eye

as she fell again, rescuing the bicycle and standing it back upbefore she could kick it again.

” Your balance is wrong. Just figured I’d tell you.” He

muttered, punctuating his sentence with another sigh. He kickedthe kick stand in place to keep it held up, backing away from

the apparently angry female. Hey, he’d offered help. It wasn’t

his fault she refused to accept it. Roman started to whistleunder his breath, glancing up at the sky, the building, somepeople – anywhere but the snappy, stubborn, female Demon.

An angry huff left the female, her eyes darkening to the bike. Was it broken? It seemed just fine, before. Maybe it was thewheels. Yes, the wheels were far too thin. About to strike outwith another kick, she paused, looking up as Roman moved it.Why? It wasn't his. He didn't need to touch her things. Andwithout permission! How mean!

Throwing back her long hair, she looked to the male with afrown. She didn't need his help! She knew physics quite well, with all of her childhood studies, and whatnot. She knew whythis thing wouldn't go. It was obviously sexist. Yes, that must've

been it. Damn sexist contraption.

"What do you mean, my balance? I'm just fine!"

She would growl again, pouting as her tail flicked back andforth. She would try it again, just to prove her point. Thorndidn't need help! This stranger would eat his words as shefigured out the problem. Leaping up, she stared at the bicycle, poking at the tires as she circled it. Finally, she got back on,looking to Roman with a smirk.

"Just watch. I know what the problem is."

Kicking up the stand, the female was determined, holding amoment as she removed the flask from her pocket once more, taking another swallow. Returning it to its place, she was ready, once again, pushing at the pedals, only faster this time. Sheactually started going, and seemed alright for a bit... It wasn'tmeant to last, however, as she panicked. The speed was a littlefrightening, causing her to lean back a little, which in turn, puther tail in line with the tire. In a moment, the long fur gottangled, anchored the bike, and caused it to fall over again, butthis time, Thorn wasn't moving. Why did this thing not like her?Painfully, the half demon tried to move her tail, but groanedthat it wouldn't move, the hanging strands of fur now caught inthe chain. Was it that difficult to ride a bike?

Her pride hurt, but she tried to look back, almost cringing asshe called out to the Fallen.

"Um...maybe...maybe...you were right."

Roman shrugged, gaze flickering back to the irritated female. ” I

mean you aren’t distributing your weight evenly enoughon that bike of yours.” He replied with another sigh, going

back to watching the clouds as he had been doing. She wasfailing miserably, and though he would never admit it, he was

only sticking around to make sure she didn’t seriously injureherself. Not if he could prevent it, at least. He kept his face

nonchalant, though his eyes kept glancing to her every time shewould move or make a noise.

When she addressed him again he half-turned to study her, eyeswidening slightly at the sight of the smirk on her face. Romanblinked, taking a step closer to see exactly what she was going

on about. What did she mean, ’ I know what the problem is’ ? TheFallen inched closer, his curiosity getting the better of him. She

had already circled the bike a few times, prodding at it in aseemingly random matter. He snorted, crossing his arms. What

did she expect it to do? Bite her or something?

Despite his sarcastic thoughts, Roman was genuinely worriedwhen she hopped back on the bike. Once more his gaze was

locked on the flask that she fi shed out of her pocket, the glintfrom the silver throwing little lights around. As soon as it was

put away once more he sighed, leaning forward to watch withseemingly vague interest. ” Whatever you say, Sweetheart.”

He replied, pushing his bangs out of his eyes again. Of course,he was sure something would go wrong again. His gut told him

so.

Just…like…that! Roman gave a small grunt noise when he sawher taking on too much speed, instinctively running after her.

She didn’t get far, and even the Fallen one winced when her tailgot caught with the tire. That had to hurt. Like hell. He jogged

over to her when she finally fell, normally squinted eyes openedwide with alarm. ” Hey, you okay?” He asked, breathing a sigh

of relief when she moved. He looked over the bike when shegroaned, shaking his head when he found the reason for it; her

tail was stuck in with the bike chain. Go figure.

” Hang on. Let me see if I can help.” He told her, all traces of sarcasm or coolness absent. His tone was even gentle as his

nimble fingers began to pick her tail hairs out. Roman tried hishardest to not pull any hairs out, but that bike was a vicious

creature. ” Try and move your tail now. Let me know if youfeel anything tugging, alright?” He murmured kindly, gaze

flickering over her wounded expression. My my, asking a FallenAngel for help couldn’t be that bad…could it?

Thorn growled at herself. Why should she have to ask for help

from someone who had just been laughing at her? It wasn't fairto her, so her expression wouldn't change much. Her tail was

also pretty sensitive, so it wasn't aiding her in an attempt tostay calm. Instead, the half demon bit her lip, hissing slightly as

she felt the fur being pulled on. It wasn't aimed directly at herrescuer, but it was at least in his direction. Why was he so nice?

It didn’t make any sense. She thought he would understand her

Staying perfectly still, Thorn flinched at every little tug, sighingheavily after he stopped. Her countenance would become

lighter, but still a bit grim. There wasn’t much pain she couldn’tstand, but this would be a very big exception. Hastily, the girl

gave her tail a nice hard yank, finding regret very quickly.Holding her tongue, she wouldn’t release the harsh words she

wanted to scream at the Fallen. Instead, she lifted her tailmore, cringing until it was finally surrendered by the evil chain.

Crawling away from her attacker, she rose, giving the bicycleanother furious kick.

How would she explain herself now? The theories that her mind

formed were seamless, and here she was, being rescued bysomeone she didn’t even know. Well, at least he didn’t say

anything like, “I told you so.” He wouldn’t yet, at least.Groaning, Thorn raised her tail, taking the end of it into her

hand. Holding out her other hand to Roman, she spoke, tryingher best to sound kind.

“Thanks… I’m not used to help, but thanks. I’m Thorn. If you

want this thing, you can have it. I give up.”

Well, she tried to sound kind, but her tone was desolate of any

sort of emotion. Silvery eyes became almost metallic asstubborn tears ventured close to the edge of spilling over. Thegirl would then turn the boy, infuriated with herself. It would

have been better to take his advice, but her ego was alwaysblocking her from listening to anyone else. Now she was proven

wrong, and it stung. What would he say to her now? Thorn couldonly wait and see, hoping that he wouldn’t find enough reason

to call her stupid or something.
