Fannie Bank Gurevitch Award: Each year, Sisterhood honors one of its own who has selflessly volunteered her time and energy for Sisterhood projects. This year’s honoree was Sheila Jay. Congratulations, Sheila, and thank you.
BT Cares Clothing Drive: On Sunday, December 13, 10 am-2 pm, Sisterhood will collect men’s casual clothing and accessories (belts, winter gloves, caps, and scarves, ties, etc.) for redistribution to the homeless and less fortunate. Please bring your new or gently-used contributions to the drop boxes in the Lower School and High School lobbies or the administrative entrance. Chairperson Esther Gross needs at least four volunteers during collection hours and one more who can stay another hour for mild clean-up. To perform this mitzvah and for further information,
please contact Esther at 410-585-1802.
Chesed Committee: A large volume of New Year’s cards were mailed to our home-bound members. Chairperson Roz Kalb would love to match you with members who need cheering up. Take them to lunch, visit, keep them in the loop with a call. If you have a little time to volunteer, please call Roz at 410-486-3456.
Gift Shop: Chanukah is December 7-14; first candle, Sunday December 6. The Sisterhood Gift Shop has children’s books, toys, games, children’s tzedukah boxes, and “team” kippot, as well as serving dishes, jewelry, and Woman of Valor ceramics. Nearly everything in the shop is now discounted.
Our Thanks: Just a moment to express our gratitude to the
chairpersons and volunteers for our events and projects. None of these could come about without your help.

The Jewish DivideMonday, November 16, 2015 at 7:00 PM
Hosted by Wendy & Craig Friedman 3734 Ashley Way, Owings Mills, MD 21117
Dessert and wine served
The Orthodox/non-Orthodox divide is an old story by now. But recent serveys reveal a new twist to the story. Originally, what separated Orthodox and non-
Orthodox Jews were religious issues such as marriage, divorce, conversion, etc; now the divide has extended to political and social issues. The long-time liberal views of the American Jewish community are finding a challenge from Orthodox Jews who take on a more conservative, Republican viewpoint. With the Orthodox community growing in numbers and clout, what does this mean to the future of the American Jewish community? Where does Beth Tfiloh stand in all this? Join Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg and Mrs. Zipora Schorr at this special event for Parents of Beth Tfiloh graduates to learn more.
