Alternative 1: Five land use classifications were developed: Conservation (CONSV), Developed (DEV), Developable by 2025 (DEV2025), Water (H2O), and Stewardship (STEWARD) . Stewardship Lands combine agricultural and forests except steep slopes and poor soils were reclassified into Conservation. Stewardship Lands are meant for the production of food and fiber. Developed Land consists of already developed land. Developed 2025 consists of land to be developed by the year 2025 by proximity to roads, existing sewers, and poor soils near existing development. Water conservation areas also consist of preservation buffers that maintain the integrity of hydrological features. The classification scheme in this option produces a housing density of 6.2 DUs per acre (see Table 1 below.) Table 1.
