Grandview Family YMCA Summer Day Camp is an

action-packed outdoor experience led by highly

trained and imaginative YMCA staff, located on 190

wooded acres with two beautiful lakes. As a Day

Camp, our facilities are unmatched; complete with a

horse barn, water park, athletic fields, hiking trails,

mud pit, disc golf, ga-ga pits and a gymnasium

all led by qualified counselors to teach each child

new skills for the best experience possible. Daily

devotionals, YMCA certified swim lessons and nature

education are just part of how the Grandview Family

YMCA strives to fulfill the YMCA’s mission of helping

each child to grow in spirit, mind and body. Let your

TRANSPORTATION FROM MONTGOMERYPick-Up Site: Montgomery YMCA Soccer Branch (300 Brown Springs Road) – Children can be dropped off between 7:00am-8:00am and the bus leaves promptly at 8:00am. The bus returns around 4:30pm and children must be picked up by 6:00pm

LUNCH AND SNACKBreakfast snack, lunch and afternoon snack are included in the cost of camp. A calendar of meals will be available at the front desk. If your child has special dietary restrictions, you will need to provide a meal for the day(s) that he/she will not eat the provided meal.

A $10 per week non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. All remaining fees must be paid by automatic draft.

A summer program for grades 8th – 10th focused on developing leadership skills and teamwork through fun, interactive activities, service projects, and opportunities to work with children in the Day Camp program. Participants will gain valuable experience in team building, leadership skills and problem solving through group work experiences. Candidates must enter with good behavior and a positive attitude displaying the YMCA Character Traits of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.

GRANDVIEW TEEN CAMP

**Our goal is to provide a balance of group activities, individual choices and progressive skill building programs. Activity options will vary daily and are subject to availability and weather. We value a full and rich camper experience with many opportunities for friendship and skill development.

Are you interested in sending your child to one of our many Vacation Bible Schools around town, but you can’t find the time in the day to drop them off or pick them up with your busy work schedule? Leave that up to us! You can sign your child up for VBS when registering for camp and we will take care of the rest!*Children must be registered in our day camp program for us to provide transportation.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

YOUTH POLICE ACADEMYWant to know what it takes to be a police officer? This academy offers fun and excitement for kids GRADES 5-8. Kids will learn and participate in activities such as: Self-protection, Drinking and driving detection, State laws, Character and team building, Building searches, Crime scene investigation, Ceremonial procedures, and Physical fitness.These classes will be on a first come first serve basis. There will be 2 classes consisting of 20 kids.Cost for the academy is free and will include a t-shirt and Graduation ceremony.

Each class will run 8am till 12pm for 5 days. Graduation ceremony Friday at 2:00

*The YMCA will provide transportation.

FITNESS CAMPGRADES 5TH & UP

At the Y, we’re dedicated to helping develop the whole child physically, intellectually, and socially. Campers participate in a fun, non-intimidating, non-competitive wellness program combining strength, cardiovascular exercises, and nutrition. Every day is a new adventure for your child to grow! After a week in this camp each child will be certified by our wellness coach in the fitness center.Week 3: June 11 – June 15 Week 7: July 9 – July 13Members: $25 Non-Members: $50

FISHING CAMPGRADES: ALL

The early bird gets the fish! Learn the techniques of fishing through our fishing-enthused counselors. Campers will learn to bait, cast, and release by themselves. All fishing

equipment will be provided. Please do not bring any fishing polls, hooks, bait to camp. Week 5: June 25 – June 29 Week 8: July 16 – July 20Members: $25 Non-Members: $50

RIFLERY CAMPGRADES: ALL

This camp is led by the states finest! Our generous State Troopers come to camp and teach our campers the importance of gun safety. Each camper will get to shoot various guns

HORSE CAMPGRADES: ALL

The Grandview Family YMCA has a Horse Camp experience to meet the needs of all the horse lovers in your family, from ages 5 to 15. This week is offered for 3 hours, Monday through Friday. Slots for all Horse Camps are limited to 12. Payment is due upon registering and no refunds are given if your child does not attend or for inclement weather. If your child is signed up for horse camp, they will miss some of their regularly scheduled group activities. On Friday’s your child will be presenting a horse show that will demonstrate new skills and techniques they learned throughout the week. This show will be from 4:00 – 5:00 pm Friday evenings. Please come out and support your child’s hard work!

SADDLE CLUBGRADES: K, 1ST & 2ND

Offered weeks 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, & 9Cost: Members: $30 Non-Members: $60Program Hours: 9:00 am – 12:00 pmThis week–long camp provides younger campers with the chance to groom the horses, participate in games with their horses, and learn the beginner’s techniques to riding and caring for a horse. Campers must be at least 5 years old to participate. Camp takes place under the supervision of talented staff at the Grandview Family YMCA.

TRAIL RIDERSGRADES: 3RD & UP

Ready for a more independent riding experience? This week–long camp provides more advanced campers with a chance to groom the horses, participate in games with their horses, and campers will spend ample time riding trails around 190 acres of camp. Your membership in the Grandview Family YMCA includes participation in all aerobics classes as well as discounts for any sports programs, swim lessons, afterschool, summer day camp and other events we offer throughout the year.

JOINING FEEWhen you join the Grandview Family YMCA, there is a $100 joining fee for families, and a $50 joining fee for individuals and youth. You will not be required to re-pay your joining fee as long as your Y membership stays active.

NO CONTRACTYou are not required to sign a contract at the YMCA. You may cancel your membership at any time with a 30-day written notice.

OTHER GREAT OPPORTUNITIES AT THE GRANDVIEW FAMILY YMCAAFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMWhen you have to work, the Y is here to provide your child with a fun and safe place to go after school. We provide a supervised, structured environment for children in grades K-8. Their activities include arts& crafts, games, creative activities, sports, snacks, and much, much more. We provide transportation to the Y from 5 different locations throughout our community.

School Sites: Coosada Elementary School, Airport Road Intermediate School, Millbrook Middle School, Millbrook Jr. High School, Victory Baptist Elementary School, Prattville Christian Academy** For VBS & PCA we need at least 6 children in attendance each week to pick up from these private schools.

GRANDVIEW GATORS SWIM TEAMATTENTION PARENTS—Did you know your child could practice with the Grandview Gators Swim Team while he/she attends Summer Day Camp? The Gators practice Monday/Tuesday/Thursday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Caring instructors will introduce your child to competitive swimming while developing his/her strokes and increasing their fitness level. Throughout the course of the summer, we’ll travel to other local YMCAs where your child will compete against other children their age. During camp check-in, our staff will make sure your child gets to the pool for practice, then he/she will rejoin their camp group after practice.

The cost for the summer is $75 for YMCA members and $150 for non-members.

SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONSCampers will receive group swim lessons as a normal part of their camp day, but for those who are interested, we now offer semi-private swim lessons for campers as a specialty camp. Instructors will work with each child’s individual needs to help he/she improve and become more confident in the water.

These special swim skill sessions occur Monday-Friday, 9:30-10:00 am with an instructor to participant ratio of 1:4.

Price is $25/week. We can take 12 kids in each session, so register early!

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The YMCA believes in serving the entire community regardless of ability to pay the full membership or program fee. The YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign provides funding to keep our doors open to everyone. Financial assistance forms are available at the Grandview Family YMCA. All assistance is on a first come-first serve need basis and is kept confidential. The schedule for Summer Financial Aid is as follows:

REGISTRATION BEGINS JANUARY 1ST

Complete the registration application and submit to the Grandview Family YMCA. A new enrollment form is due for each program every year. Space is limited, so register early! A $10 per week non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. All remaining fees must be paid by automatic draft. Camps are registered only by weekly sessions.
