    Young Professionals for BRAC InternationalBRAC Internationals Young Professionals Programme (YPP) provides the foundation forexceptionally qualified and motivated fresh graduates seeking a professional career indevelopment.YPP offers a range of opportunities to develop professional skills andunderstand BRACs diverse development programmes, operations, policies and procedures.

    What does the Programme offer?

    Young Professionals (YPs) will train with a global group of recruits from Pakistan, Tanzania,Uganda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Liberia. They will then serve a fixed 2-yearappointment at field level in their country of origin.

    On completion of field level assignments, YPs will have the opportunity to fast track theircareers within BRAC International and be eligible for mid-level management positions in theirrespective BRAC country office.

    . Six-month Overseas Training:

    All YPs will be flown to BRAC headquarters in Bangladesh for an initial six-month training ondevelopment programmes and management skills beginning October 2013. They will receiveclassroom-based training at BRAC headquarters and BRAC University in the capital, Dhaka.This will be followed by on-the-job training at field operations across Bangladesh.

    Programme Objectives:

    Providing young professionals with the management skills, conceptual clarity andcommunications competency necessary to address the complex problem solving challengesof BRAC International. The programme will focus on:

    awareness of development issues

    business management

    effective oral and written communications in English

    appreciation of and sensitivity to the lives of the poor and particularly powerlesswomen

    Course Outline:

    Classroom training at BRAC University and BRAC learning centres in Dhaka, Bangladesh (4months) followed by on-the-job training at field operations in various programme locationsacross Bangladesh (2 months).

    During this period, YPs will gain a conceptual and empirical understanding ofdifferentdimensions of development and how they intersect to create opportunities and threats forstrategies to inhibit or promote transformations in the lives of the poor. They will gain an in-depth understanding of all BRAC development programmes.

    B. Two-month Training Programme at YPs Country of Origin:

    During this period, YPs will further develop their expertise and broaden their perspectivethrough exposure to their countrys specific development programmes.

    C. Two-year field level deployment in different programmes at the YPs Country ofOrigin

    Am I Eligible to Apply?The following eligibility requirements guide the recruitment of the Young Professionals:

    Applicants must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above (in a scale of 4.0) or 4.5 and above (ina scale of 5.0) at undergraduate level from a reputed university. Graduates from anydiscipline are encouraged to apply.

    Applicants must be a national of their respective country and have a valid passport Applicants must be fluent in English and at least one local language Applicants must be a maximum of 30 years of age. Applicants must have the ability/motivation to work in a multicultural work environment Flexibility and capacity to work in different areas of the organization Strong analytical, interpersonal, team and communication skills A desire and readiness to serve in field assignments

    Applications will go through a rigorous screening process. Short-listed candidates will beinvited to a written and oral assessment followed by a formal interview. Newly appointedYoung Professionals will be expected tojoin and travel to Bangladesh by October 2013 tobegin training.

    Salary and Terms of EmploymentSuccessful candidates will be expected to undergo a medical check up before travelling toBangladesh for an uninterrupted six months training period at BRAC headquarters and fieldoperations. Weekends and holidays will be given as per BRAC Bangladesh policies.

    Successful candidates will receive an all expenses paid trip to Bangladesh including one-timereturn airfare (to and from their country), accommodation, travel and food costs withinBangladesh, as well as a remuneration of USD 400 per month during the entire eight-monthtraining period (tax deductible at source as per country policy) .     recruits will receive a monthly salary and benefits as per their respective BRAC Country Officesalary structure and HR policies.
