Tropicana Student Living Welcomes You. Tropicana Student Living features UC owned, privately managed residence halls and an apartment complex, home to University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) students. Every year we welcome international students from all over the world to our community.

Meet new people and make the most of your stay!

It’s easy to make friends in our Tropicana Student Living community. If you choose to live in one of our residence halls you’ll meet your neighbors at breakfast in our dining hall, walking to school, or sunbathing by the pool. Our Resident Assistants organize fun events every week such as hiking in the Santa Barbara hills, playing soccer with your roommates, singing karaoke, learning to surf and much more! You’ll get to know many more Americans than you would living in a traditional apartment setting – and have many more opportunities to perfect your English or immerse yourself in American culture!

Live near the beach

All 3 student communites are located on the edge of the lively student community of Isla Vista (IV) next to the campus of the world-renowned University of California, Santa Barbara. After your classes, take a walk to the beach, only 6 blocks away. Meet friends for coffee in IV, or stay home and enjoy our heated pool, rec room and fitness center.
