Vendor Market AssessmentThe North American Clean and Information Technology Vendor marketplace is generally characterized by:
Many small (sub $1m – 3.5m revenue) technology and “infrastructure” focused firms
2-7 years old Running hand to mouth off of operating income and perhaps a line from
the bank Generally 10-15 staff with 90+% engineering Virtually no expertise in corporate strategy development/execution,
business development and leveraged channel sales activities Funded to date through founders, friends and family, small angels, etc.
Except for a very few companies in California and Boston/New York, most companies never see external/strategic funding
Not connected to the outside world beyond their local territory and very insular in operating/financial mindset
The vast majority of these companies fail to scale beyond $1-$2m revenue and successful equity event because of inadequate capital and no strategic go-to market activities.

Investor Market AssessmentThe North American Clean, Information and Nano Technology Investor marketplace is generally characterized by:
Founders, Angels, and Friends & Family – Up to $500k-$1.5m Public Listings – Secondary exchanges (e.g. TSX-V, OTC, AIM)
possible especially through RTO, but many get orphaned due to lack of sales traction and scaling revenue.
Private Venture Capital Funds – Generally will not invest under $2m for min 40% equity position. Generally will not invest in firms with less than $2m revenue.
Venture Debt Players – Generally will not invest funds into firms with less than $5m revenue and be cash flow positive/neutral.
Opportunities still exist through Private Capital, Convertible Debentures, and limited gov’t funds
There is an investment hole after friends/family and/or IPO. Investments range from $500k-$5m for debenture, private equity, and Government programs with operational involvement.
