How to Become a Kart RacerThe first step in your racing career is to decide on a style of racing you like:
• Dirt Oval • Asphalt Oval • Asphalt Sprint
Head to the TrackBEFORE you buy anything, make a day of it and come down to the track. Check everything out and see what is involved in racing. You can always talk to someone at GVKC. They can answer any questions you might have and steer you in the right direction.
Safety is #1Safety gear is a MUST and is some-times overlooked in the purchase of a Kart. This list is the required safety gear that must be worn while driving on the track. These things are important because they are there to help protect you in case of an accident.
• Helmet (Snell 2010 or newer)
• Neck Brace• Chest Protector
• Jacket/Suit• Gloves• Shoes
