Sharing Our Lives with Animais For those who love their ani-

mals and consider them part of their family and the fact that so many well-cared-for pets are now living longer lives, healthier and happier, is good news, indeed!

Much of this is due to exten-sive advances in medical science, and increased awareness ^mong pet owners on how to lovingly and effectively caie for tHeir aging an- • imals.

With age, changes can occur, but a little extra care and attention can go a long way toward the happy outcome of having your cats, dogs, and other animals, share a longer, healthier life with you.

For instmice, you might notice that your older cat could be finding it a bit difficult to climb to his or her favorite windowsill or cat post ledge. Try placing a chair of small table nearby to help. And putting out an extra litter box or two is helpful, so your cat won't have to race through your home when "na-ture calls" (which, with aging ani-

Also, if your aging dog or cat friend doesn't seem to be as com-fortable eating crunchy dry food, adding a little warm water to the kibble will soften it - or you can even run it in a blender - to make^ the food easier and more enjoyable to eat. (Please be sure to quickly re-frigerate or dispose of any left-overs, to avoid spoilage!)

Good medical care, needless to say, is very important, such as regular checkups. If age-related medical conditions are diagnosed, there are therapies (medicinal, diet, and so forth) which may help slow down the progression ofthe condi-tion, as well as keep your pets con-tented and give them more time with you. Such illnesses as cancer, diabetes, heart problems, and so forth, may now be treated with great success, in many cases. Team work between you, as pet owner; your veterinarian; and of course, your beloved animal, can be the best way to go!

As with humans, emotional health for your animal can be very important, too. Providing a fairly peaceful, low-stress environment when possible, may lead to better health, slower aging, and more happiness - which would be best for everyone involved!

Where did we come from? Why are we here? where are we going? God's purpose and plan for us gives us the answers to these questions. To answer the second question in the list above let's go back in time about 2083 years and learn from an ancient' american missionary names Amulek:

Yea, I would.that it would-come forth and harden not your hearts any longer, for behold, now is the time and the day of your sal-vation; and therefore, if ye will re-pent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.

"For behold, this Ufe is the

time for men to repart to meet God; yea, behold the day of that life is the day for men to. perform their labors (ALMA 34:31-32.) About five hundred years before Amulek's deciuration, a propaet lehi teaches his son another simple truth," Adam hell that men might be. And men are that they might have joy" (ZNEPHI 2:25).

Our purpose in this life is to have joy and prepare to return to God's presence, to leara more con-tact us at (5620 794-3932 or visit us at www.mormon.org. We meet each Sunday in the conformance room in the U.S. Band at 4:00 pjn. in english and 6:00 p.m. in Span-ish. All is welcome.

Caivary Bible Church For whoever is ashamed of

Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father^s, and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:26)'

Join us this Sunday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m., as Calvary Bible Church hosts a special Bible Teaching & Worship Service in the front lobby ofthe U.S. Bank Build-ing, 303 Crescent Avenue (near the comer of Crescent & Metropole), offering a Biblical study of Acts of The Apostles, Chapters 4 and 5.

Immediately after their receiv-ing of the Holy Spirit on the Feast of Pentecost, the followers of Jesus, who just the day before had been hiding in fear of being of ar-rested, were suddenly changed into bold preachers of the Gospel. In Chapter 4 of Acts of The Apostles, we see Peter and John walk into the Jerusalem Temple, and' begin preaching repentance of sin and the resurrection from the dead in front of the very men who condemned Jesus to crucifixion on the cross. Wth courage and a "peace fliat sur-passes all understanding" in their hearts, these men became ambas-sadors for Jesus Christ, the one true, living God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they were no longer common uneducated fishermen from Galilee, but fearless "super men" on fire for the Lord, brave and unashamed. The Apostle Paul, after his conversion, even re-marked, 7 am not ashamed ofthe gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes." (Romans 1:16) Are you ashamed of being a Christian? Are you certain of your eternal des-tiny after you die?

The Apostle Paul, in his letters to the early Church, tells us that it is Jesus Christ who saves us fi-om sin and gives us eternal life - we do not save ourselves. Trying to be "a good person" or doing good deeds

does not lead to salvation. Peter, as well, reminds us "There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.'̂ (Acts 4:12)J^t is only by our repen-tance of sin and direct commitment to Jesus Christ - not belonging to a particular religion, following a church denomination, or doing "good works" - that changes in our life and our eternal salvation are as-sured. Peter, again, tells us hdvv easy it is to find salvation: ''Repent and be baptized, every one of you, 4n the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) Are you ready to receive the free gift of life with Jesus?

Each week's smdy is taught by Pastor Jason Gant, bringing you the loving and living Word of God from the Bible, chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse. Everyone is welcomed, and transportation is happily provided. Attendees at this Sunday's service will have the op-portunity to ask their Bible ques-tions and take part in a brief discussion period after the teach-ing. Our "Coffee & Carbs Fellow-ship" follows immediately afterwards. Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the beautiful, shaded park across fi^m City Hall, weather per-mitting. Bring your lunch and join us for prayer and cast all of your cares on Jesus, the Great Physician of us all! Sharing Our Lives with Animals For those who love their ani-

mals and consider them part of their family and the fact that so many well-cared-for pets are now living longer lives, healthier and happier, is good news, indeed!

Much of this is due to exten-sive advances in medical science, and increased awareness among pet owners on how to lovingly and effectively care for their aging an-imals.

Widi age, changes can occur, but a littie extra care and attention can go a long way toward the happy outcome of having your cats, dogs, and other animals, share a longer, healthier life with you.

For instance, you might notice that your older cat could be finding it a bit difficult to climb to his or her favorite windowsill or cat post ledge. Try placing a chair or small table nearby to help. And putting out an extra litter box or two is helpful, so your cat won't have to race through your home when "na-ture calls" (which, with aging ani-

Also, if your aging dog or cat friend doesn't seem to be as com-fortable eating crunchy dry food, adding a little warm water to the kibble will soften it - or you can even run it in a blender - to make the food easier and more enjoyable to eat, (Please be sure to quickly re-frigerate or dispose of any left-overs, to avoid spoilage!)

Good medical care, needless to say, is very important, such as regular checkups. If age-related medical conditions are diagnosed, there are therapies (medicinal, diet, and so forth) which may help slow down the progression of the condi-tion, as well as keep your pets con-tented and give them more time with you.

To answer the second question in the list above let's go back in time about 2083 years and learn from an ancient american missionary names Amulek:

Yea, I would that it would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer, for behold, now is the time and the day of your sal-vation; and therefore, if ye will re-pent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.

"For behold, this life is the

time for men to repart to meet God; yea, behold the day of that life is the day for men to perform their labors (ALMA 34:31-32.) About five hundred years before Amulek's decurvation, a propaet lehi teaches his son another simple truth," Adam hell that men might be. And men are that they might have joy" (Z NEPHI 2:25).

Our purpose in this life is to have joy and prepare to return to God's presence, to learn more con-tact us at (5620 794-3932 or visit us at www.mormon.org. We meet each Sunday in the conformance room in the U.S. Band at 4:00 pjn. in english and 6:00 p.m. in Span-ish. All is welcome.

Calvary Bible Church For whoever is ashamed of

Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:26)

Join us this Sunday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m., as Calvary Bible Church hosts a special Bible Teaching & Worship Service in the front lobby ofthe U.S. Bank Build-ing, 303 Crescent Avenue (near the comer of Crescent & Metropole), offering a Biblical study of Acts of The Apostles, Chapters 4 and 5. v

Immediately after their receiv-ing of the Holy Spirit on the Feast of Pentecost, the followers of Jesus, who just the day before had been hiding in fear of being of ar-rested, were suddenly changed into bold preachers of the Gospel. In Chapter 4 of Acts of The Apostles, we see Peter and John walk into the Jerusalem Temple, and begin preaching repentance of sin and the resurrection from the dead in front of the very men who condenmed Jesus to crucifixion on the cross. With courage and a "peace that sur-passes all understanding" in their hearts, these men became ambas-sadors for Jesus Christ, the one true, living God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they were no longer common uneducated fishermen from Galilee, but fearless "super men" on fire for the Lord, brave and unashamed. The Apostie Paul, after his conversion, even re-marked, "/ am not ashamed ofthe gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.'' (Romans 1:16) Are you ashamed of being a Christian? Are you certain of your eternal des-tiny after you die?

The Apostle Paul, in his letters to the early Church, tells us that it is Jesus Christ who saves us from sin and gives us eternal life - we do not save ourselves. Trying to be "a good person" or doing good deeds

does not lead to salvation. Peter, as well, reminds us "There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) It is only by our repen-tance of sin and direct commitment to Jesus Christ - not belonging to a particular religion, following a church denomination, or doing "good works" - that changes in our life and our eternal salvation are as-sured. Peter, again, tells us how easy it is to find salvation; "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) Are you ready to receive the free gift of life with Jesus?

Each week's study is taught by Pastor Jason Gant, bringing you the loving and living Word of God from the B ibie, chapter- by-chapter, verse-by-verse. Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the beautiful, shaded park across from City Hall, weather per-mitting.

Much of this is due to exten-sive advances in medical science, and increased awareness among pet owners on how to.lovingly and effectively care for their aging an-imals.

With age, changes can occur, but a little extra care and attention can go a long way toward the happy outcome of having your cats, dogs, and other animals, share a longer, healthier life with you.

For instance, you might notice that your older cat could be finding it a bit difficult to climb to his or her favorite windowsill or cat post ledge. Try placing a chair or small table nearby to help. And putting out an extra litter ,box or two is helpful, so your cat won't have to race through your home when "na-ture calls" (which, with aging ani-

mals, tends to happen more fre-quently).

Also, if your aging dog or cat friend doesn't seem to be as com-fortable eating crunchy dry food, adding a little warm water to the kibble will soften it - or you can even run it in a blender - t o make the food easier and more enjoyable to eat. (Please be sure to quickly re-frigerate or dispose of any left-overs, to avoid spoilage!)

Good medical care, needless to say, is very important, such as regular checkups. If age-related medical cpnditions are diagnosed, there are ther^ies (medicinal, diet, and so forth) which may help stow down the progression ofthe condi-tion, as well as keep your pets con-tented and give them more time with you.

To answer the second question in the list above let's go back in time about 2083 years and learn ft"om an ancient american missionary names Amulek:

Yea, I. would that.it would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer, for behold, now is the time and the day of your sal-vation; and therefore, if ye will re-pent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.

And men are that they might havejoy" (ZNEPHI 2:25).

For whoever is ashamed of Me arui My words, of him the Son' of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father'sl and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:26)

Join us this Sunday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m., as Calvary Bible Church hosts a special Bible Teaching & Worship Service in the front lobby of the U.S. Bank Build-ing, 303 Crescent Avenue (near the comer of Crescent & Metropole), offering a Biblical study of Acts of The Apostles, Chapters 4 and 5. ^

Immediately after their receiv-ing of the Holy Spirit on the Feast of Pentecost, the followers of Jesus, who just the day before had been hiding in fear of being of ar-rested, were suddenly changed into bold preachers of the Gospel. In Chapter 4 of Acts of The Apostles, we see Peter and John walk into the Jerusalem Temple, and begin preaching repentance of sin and the resurrection from the dead in front of the very men \yho condemned Jesus to crucifixion on the cross. With courage and a "peace that sur-passes all understanding" in their hearts, these men became ambas-sadors for Jesus Christ, the one true, living God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they were no longer common uneducated fishermen from Galilee, but fearless "super inen" on fire for the Lord, brave and unashamed. The Apostle Paul, after his conversion, even re-marked, "/ am not ashamed ofthe gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes." (Romans 1:16) Are you ashamed of being a Christian? Are you certain of your eternal des-tiny after you die?

The Apostle Paul, in his letters to the early Church, tells us that it is Jesus Christ who saves us from sin and gives us eternal life - we do not sa.\e ourselves. Trying to be "a good person" or doing good deeds

does not lead to salvation. Peter, as well, reminds us "There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) It is only, by our repen-tance of sin and direct commitment to Jesus Christ - not belonging to a par
