Before Fairfield Road, Issue was the road was an evolved construction which was no longer suitable for the weight of modern vehicles. This overloading of the structure created cracks and deformations leading to potholes. Previous works to improve the aesthetics had included micro surfacing which had helped improve the ride and seal the road to water ingress preventing pothole formation but only for a limited time, circa 8 years.

After Fairfield Rd

The road surfacing and old micro surfacing was completely removed and reconstructed to remove the existing potholes and ensure that the carriageway was fit for purpose to carry modern vehicles.
