English: - This week we are learning the story of ‘The Gruffalo’

Listen to the story being read aloud on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_EM-iZNguo

Can you draw a picture of the Gruffalo and describe what he looks like?

Challenge:

1. Draw the Gruffalo and write key words to describe him e.g. big, strong

2. Draw the Gruffalo and write sentences to describe him using the sentence starters:

‘He is… or he has...’ e.g. he is big, he has a black tongue.

3. Can you write your own sentences to describe the Gruffalo?

Remember to encouage the children to have a go at the spellings themselves, using sounds we

have already learnt e.g. at this stage we would expect the children to write the word ‘tongue’ by

using their robot arms to segment the word and then writing down the sounds they can hear

t-u-ng.

Theme- Today the children will be using purple mash and completing the 2Do activity by making

a monster picture.

You will create a picture and use the words to label your picture. Think about the character of

your monster and describe it to your grown up. Is it kind or scary?
