Because I’m Beautiful Girls Club, Inc., for the second year, has partnered with The Family Christian Association of America’s summer camp to provide Life Skills Management and Self-esteem . FCAA has served the community for over 25 years with an impeccable reputation in the community. The eight week sessions consist of girls ages 8-15 who participate in hands-on activities, field trips, and group workshop with guest speakers. BIB has received positive reviews from the FCAA staff as well as the parents. “My daughter listens to

everything that is mentioned to her in each session and she takes it to heart. She can literally repeat everything that is said to her. She loves the program,” said Jonelle Curry.

Each year we try to bring engaging activities and lessons that will provide today’s girls with possibilities and choices. Its paramount that they make wise choices, explore their interests and set goals for themselves for a brighter future.

Bullying Statistics• Thirty percent (30%) of U.S.

students in grades six through ten are involved in moderate or frequent bullying — as bullies, as victims, or as both — according to the results of the first national survey on this subject.

• Bullying is increasingly viewed as an important contributor to youth violence, including homicide and suicide.

• 1 out of 4 kids are bullied. The American Justice Department says that this month 1 out of every 4 kids will be abused by another youth.

• Surveys show that 77% of students are bullied mentally, verbally, & physically.

• In a recent study, 77% of the students said they had been bullied. And 14% of those who were bullied said they experienced severe (bad) reactions to the abuse.

• 1 out of 5 kids admits to being a bully, or doing some "Bullying."

• 8% of students miss 1 day of class per month for fear of Bullies.

BULLYING IS REPEATED (FREQUENT) INTENTIONAL ACTIONS THAT BRING HARM TO AN INDIVIDUAL.

BASS MUSEUM FIELD TRIP

The key to encouraging development in girls is to facilitate exploration and positive interactions with the world around them. A field trip to the Bass Museum to view the Egyptian exhibit is just one of those times. The girls were amazed at the paintings and artifacts. They were also able to create their own works of art..
