What better way to celebrate your child’s birthday than with a B’Earthday Party at the Urban Ecology Center? We offer parties for kids who are turning 5 and older. Work with us to create a unique party for your children to celebrate their special day with a variety of themes (listed on back) and activities. We are happy to mix and match themes and always welcome your input!

Participant limit is 20 children per party, unless noted in the description (on back).

Your B’Earthday Party will include:A two hour party with the theme of •your choice including materials

Programming by our fun and •creative community program staff

Dishes, silverware and napkins - we •even do the set-up and clean-up!

Food and drink are not provided, but you are invited to bring your own food.

Air Adventure (ages 7+)BE AMAZED by air pressure experiments and create a craft that flies. Then we will go outside to watch rockets launch, go for a hike, play games and search for things that fly!

Animal Antics This party includes hands-on learning about native Wisconsin animals by getting an up-close look at the Center’s reptiles, amphibians and fish, making an animal craft, and going outside for a hike with animal themed games.

Brilliant BirdsWe will go on a bird-watching adventure in Riverside Park, make a craft, and hear stories about our feathered friends.

Campfire Craze Enjoy songs and skits around the campfire, a hike through Riverside park and fun outdoor games.

Create Your Own Tell us your ideas and we are happy to work with you to create a new theme for your child. Or mix-and-match our existing themes!

CSI: Riverside Park [FALL/WINTER ONLY]Investigate and piece together clues to discover the wildlife scene at Riverside Park: tracks, rubbings, and scat. Check out the activity of winter animals in Riverside Park after creating your own tracks and playing winter games.

The Experiment Experience (ages 7+)Enter the “secret laboratory” at Riverside Park where we will conduct experiments to unlock the mysteries of science. Discover more wonder on a hike through the woods with some outdoor games!

Mini-beasts: Insect Investigation [SPRING/SUMMER ONLY]Get a glimpse of the amazing world of insects as we go on an insect safari to hunt for these mini-beasts and discover the impressive qualities of these tiny creatures through games and activities.

Rhythm of NatureThis party includes creating sounds on African drums & percussion instruments, going outside for sound exploration and games, doing hands-on nature activities, and creating a craft to take home. We will have fun with sounds!

Scavenger HuntEveryone loves a scavenger hunt! Kids will make a craft, play games and explore Riverside Park.

Traditional: A fresh twist on an old favorite. Kids explore nature and engage all their senses as they search for a variety of items.Clue Based: In this treasure hunt style scavenger hunt, solving each clue or challenge leads one step closer to the “treasure.”Orienteering (ages 9+): Kids will have fun navigating their way through an orienteering course in Riverside Park using a map and compass.

Sense-ational NatureTaste, touch, smell, hear and see what is going on around the Center and Riverside Park. Discover nature through different games and activities that excite all five senses.

Wintery Day Adventures [FALL/WINTER ONLY]Dig in, literally, to the wonderful white stuff as we build snow structures, go sledding and appreciate the winter season. If there’s no snow, no worries! Hear captivating tales in our tipi, create a cool craft, and enjoy other activities.

Woodland Discovery [FALL/WINTER ONLY]Enjoy the wonders of fall as we explore the forest habitat through stores and games to discover amazing things about the plants and animals that live in the woods.

Water Wonders [SPRING/SUMMER ONLY]Ready for some fun with water? Kids will do hands-on experiments with water, play water games, watch water rockets and make a craft to take home. Kids might get wet and will definitely have fun!

Dancing to the Rhythm of the SeasonsNearly every culture has dances to celebrate the seasons. We will celebrate summer as dance instructor Elaina Qureshi teaches dances of the season! In addition, kids will create a musical craft to use as they dance and we will go outside for an exploration of the season in Riverside Park. Party is contingent upon the availability of the dance instructor.

Dancing to the Rhythms of NatureThe natural world is full of rhythms. We’ll listen, create and move to the rhythms of nature with dance instructor, Elaina Qureshi. Then we will search for sounds in Riverside Park while playing games and hiking. Party is contingent upon the availability of the dance instructor.

Rock Climbing (ages 7+) (participant limit of 15) [SPRING/SUMMER ONLY]This urban adventure rock climbing party includes climbing on our 40 foot climbing wall followed by games and a hike in Riverside Park (if time permits). Party is contingent upon the availability of the climbing wall and belayers.
