Mission Study on Haiti, sponsored by the United Methodist Women Saturday, August 25, 8:00 am - 12:00 noon, Haney Hall, Led by Joyce ClarkThis year’s United Methodist Women mission study is about Haiti. We’ll see how Haiti’s history was influenced by U.S. diplomacy and policy; learn how the United Methodist Church has been a presence in Haiti before and after the 2010 earthquake; and discover the hope for Haiti’s future and some of the ways that it can be fulfilled as well as hindered. Foundation Scholarship Recipients The Brentwood UMC Foundation is pleased to announce the following winners of

its 2012-2013 scholarships: Mallory Glasgow, Jennifer Johnson, Sara Rains, Kath-erine Schenck. The BUMC Foundation awards four scholarships each year to active members of BUMC. At least three of the renewable scholarships go to graduat-ing high school seniors and the fourth is available for college students returning for graduate studies. The BUMC Foundation provides a permanent and ongoing source of funding to ensure the continued work of BUMC. For more information on the BUMC Foundation, please contact Lisa Gray at extension 201.

Better Decisions Mentors: A Rewarding Experience for Women Better Decisions, a nonprofit organization that teaches decision-making skills to inmates

at the Tennessee Prison for Women, needs volunteers for the next “Better Decisions” class. Mandatory training weekend is September 8 & 9 (9-4 on Saturday, 1-5 on
