BDO x 2 is a dual plate screen changer designed for perfect continuous operation

The dual plate design is successfully tested and used on the following processes: Blown and cast films, flat sheet, pipes, profiles, strand dies, underwater pelletizers, hot melt coating, recycling, masterbatches

A perfect flow continuity !With the innovative continuous flow screenchangers BDO x 2 the construction complexity isreduced to a minimum and the material quality isguaranteed. The new sealing system allows it usealso on extrusion lines working with very highpressure levels.
The BDO x 2 screen changer has now been testedon thousands of extrusion and compounding lines.
On blown film extrusion process it deliversexceptional performance with a perfect flowcontinuity also on single layer lines with productthicknesses up to 10 microns.

During normal operation both the filtration areas are in filtering position.
When the inlet pressure reaches the screen change set value, the contaminated screen replacement sequence can be started.
Screen contamination at 50-60% is the correct condition to start the screen replacement sequence.

One of the two slide plates is pushed out and the contaminated screen can be replaced.

Venting indicator: initial position
To ensure perfect flow stability the breaker plate cavity must be filled in properly before it can be moved back to the normal operating position.
The melt flows into the breaker plate cavity through the venting inlet channel.
Trapped air is purged out through the venting outlet channel.

The flow capacity needed for the venting procedure can be finely tuned.
Different settings are available to meet the specific process needs.

Trapped air has now been completely purged.
The slide plate can be moved back to the normal operating position.
The screen replacement sequence of the second filtration element can be started.
Anti -drop plate opening sequence

Engineered anti-drop nylon plate reduces the amount of melt dropped from the breaker plate cavities during screen change granting faster venting, stable output and cost savings

Plate Vs bolt design Bolt type:The cavity is much deeper than the plate system and the volume of air to be purged out is 7 times higher
Plate type:The cavity for the screen packs is very thin and consequently the volume of air to be purged out
The sealing system is completely interchangeable and allows easy on-site maintenance. Working pressure reaches considerably higher levels (500 to 600 bar) thanks to the pressure-activated sealing system. The purging times are considerably shorter and allow for continuous flow work even with extruded thicknesses up to 10 microns. Flow channels are machined on both sides and therefore optimized if compared to monolithic constructions that can not be machined internally
