    A NOTE ON REFLEXIVE VERBS

    Many of these verbs are reflexive.e.g. to wash my hair = lavarse el pelo.

    Reflexive means the action is being done to oneself.

    E.g. Lavarse el pelo

    Me lavo el pelo. I wash my hair.Te lavas el pelo. You wash your hair.Se lava el pelo He/She washes his/her hair. Nos lavamos el pelo. We wash our hair.Se lavan el pelo. They wash their hair.

    WEEK 7 Expressing likes and dislikes

    The verb to like in Spanish is gustar and it works differently to most verbs. To co

    use the verb gustar, you also need to use a pronoun to say who likes it. It works back front, so really you are saying X pleases me Me gusta X.

    To say you like, use te gusta, he/she likes = le gusta, we like = nos gustathey like = les gusta.

    Add n to gusta if the thing that you like or dislike is plural.Ej. Me gusta el queso.: I like cheese.BUT

    No me gustan las aceitunas.: I dont like olives.

    If you are using a verb, use the singular gusta. The verb which follows must be in thinfinitive.Ej. Me gusta nadar - I like to swim.

    Saying what you like in Spanish:

    Me gusta(n) - I like e.g. Me gusta pasear - I like walking.Me gusta(n) bastante - I quite like e.g. Me gusta bastante la paella - I quite like paella.

    Me encanta(n) : I love e.g. Me encanta el vino tinto - I love red wine.

    Me chifla(n) - Im crazy about/I love e.g. Me chiflan las motos - Im crazy about motorbikes.
