CONGREGATION MEETING - JANUARY 6

Time to Store Christmas Decorations till Next Year! The Property Committee and Worship Committee plan to move sanctuary decorations to storage on January 5th right after second service. There will be pizza, salad, cookies, and drinks (water/tea) in the fellowship hall to suppress our appetites and quench our thirst as we carefully remove and store decorations in preparation for Epiphany and the New Year! There are also some beautiful poinsettias left looking for a good home! Please invite family and other church members to join in!

There will be a Congregational Meeting open to all members of Barry Christian Church on Monday, January 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. This is an opportunity to participate in creating a plan for the future direction of our church that

will represent and embrace our faith, our strengths, and diversity as one Christian family. We are pleased that Dr. Tom Russell, a conflict resolution specialist will be present to guide us all as we impart on a new path! We will honor the heritage of Christian unity by staying and working together to share a voice for a future of promise!

Please plan to attend!!

There will be a Fellowship Dinner on

Sunday, February 2, after the second

service. It will be a delicious turkey

noodle soup dinner! Yum! Yum!

Invite your friends. Proceeds from the

fellowship dinner will go to the Barry

“As we lift our hearts in prayer,

dear Lord, may we receive all

the benefits of your grace…”

In Sympathy Our sympathy and prayers are extended for these families in their loss:

Lois Rapp and family in the death of her sister, Evelyn Mack, on Tuesday, December 10.

The George, Schaer and Vandendele families in the death of Bob's father, Jack, on December 13.

The Lair family in the death of father and grandfather, Joseph Gibbs on Wednesday, December 18.

Rita & Bob Knopf in the death of Rita's brother in law, Kevin Keeler on Thursday, December 26.

To the very nice folks at Barry Christian Church -

Thank you so much for allowing my family and friends to utilize

your beautiful church to celebrate the life of my late wife,

Evelyn B. Mack. She would have been delighted.

May God shower each of you with his riches blessing.

Gratefully yours in Christian love,

William G. Mack.

“I have decided to

stick with love. Hate

is too great a burden

to bear.”

—Martin Luther King Jr.

We must alter our lives in order to al-ter our hearts, for it is impossible to live one way and pray another. —William Law

We had over 400 Christmas Cards to divide into 17 boxes and almost 40 cards that were sent with a personal message. There were a couple of letters that also went into the boxes. We mailed 9 boxes to Joseph Maier. There are 57 in his unit. The camp is in a remote area and the only supplies they get have to be dropped by air or brought up by convoy. They are at a FOB (forward operating base) that is a combat zone. They are currently in the process of building a hard structure in camp, but most of them are in tents. Electricity is run off 110 V diesel genera-tors. Their kitchen is currently a tent with limited cooking abilities. They do have a stove, microwave and refrigerator that has a freezer compart-ment. They also have a military dog in camp. We included dog food in one of their boxes.

We mailed 8 boxes to SPC Timothy R. Koones. There are 40 in his unit. They are a Combat Engineer Route Clearance Platoon. They are responsible for finding any IED's. IED is an Improvised Explosive Device that is easily hidden and very destructive. Many of these men are on their 2nd & 3rd deployment. They have 110 electricity, no microwave and no coffee pot. Each box contained snacks they could take with them, hand and foot warmers, coffee, canned Vienna sausages, canned fruit, socks, Ramon noodles, hygiene items, reading material, etc. Each box is packed full. To those that so faithfully give to the Troop Fund, I thank you. It is not always what is in the box, but the fact that someone cares. I always include Barry Christian's address and let them know the boxes would not be possible without your support. They also know that we pray for them and ask God to bless them and keep them safe. Blessings to All, Edna Williams

New Offering Envelopes

Offering Envelopes are

convenient to use and help

ensure accuracy in record

keeping and enable

privacy. Children may

sign up for offering

envelopes too! (Good

way to teach the little

ones about stewardship)

We hope more people will take advantage of using

the offering envelopes and save the pew envelopes

for visitors.

Offering Envelopes are on the table at the back of the

Sanctuary. Look for your name on the list, if you see

your name listed, please mark it off and pick up the

corresponding numbered envelopes.

If your name is not on the list, please pick out ei-

ther weekly or monthly envelopes and write your

name next to the corresponding number on the sheet

provided.

The new security systems are

installed! This one is on the North

door, by the offices. A key will no longer

work to open this door. When you

arrive during office hours, simply press

the button to speak to the Gail in the

office and she will let you in. (If she does

not respond right away she may be

away from her desk)

A key will still work to open the West

entrance door.

These doors will be open on Sunday

mornings along with the other church

doors.
