Banned Drugs-Medicines in Bangladesh – www.dgda.gov.bd

Bangladesh Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has banned 51 tablet

medicines manufactured by different local pharmaceutical companies on 13th August,

2015.

This decision of 51 Tablet Registration Cancellation has been made as per Drug Control

Committee 244 Meeting and is effective immediately. With this notice from Bangladesh

government being applied, all pharmaceutical companies should stop manufacturing,

selling, buying, storing, marketing & showcasing of these 51 banned medicines. Failed

to do so will face serious criminal charges by the government.

These 51 banned tablet medicines are mainly manufactured from genres of

Paracetamol & Methionine, Pioglitazone and Rosiglitazone. This includes very popular

ACE Soft & NAPA Soft paracetamol tablets, vastly used around the country at time of

fever.

All these 51 tablets are popular medicines among peoples in Bangladesh. Now everyone

should be careful not to buy any of these list of banned medicines from any hospitals,

medical/drug stores or person.

Bangladesh Directorate General of Drug Administration has run detailed lab testing,

which revealed serious risk factors in these tablets. Though the same drug

administration DGDA has approved all these 51 tablets in 2011.

Now everyone should be aware & careful about buying & selling of these medicines in

respect of health risk matters. We have listed all the banned 51 medicines name &

company name to get alert and avoid the tablets.
