As our future becomes more fluid and dynamic, it has also become more uncertain. One really does not know what skills or knowledge would be required for productive workers in the future. Hence this makes the business of schools more challenging. Never before do we, as educators, need to educate and prepare our students for such complexities. Do we know that we are preparing students of today for a future where jobs that have yet to be created, for technologies that have yet to be invented and for problems that have yet to become problems?
A school can only be as good as its students. Students are at the heart of what a school does. Students bring with them different background knowledge, expectations and dreams. Hence meeting their varied needs is a great challenge to a school.
The school cannot do all those things that I have mentioned earlier alone. The Alumni weekend activities have nurtured many of our students for the past decade and make their development and growth more wholesome and holistic.
To do our job well, the school requires the support and resources of the stakeholders and once again I am happy that the Alumni has continued to support us in this journey of developing our students.

Dear Parents and Pupils,
In 2001, Nan Chiau Alumni Association started the Weekend Activities in
Nan Chiau Primary School with a mission to support the school’s
education with a holistic perspective for the pupils, so as to prepare our
students for the upcoming future.
Today, as the school environment and curriculum has undergone much
changes, our mission remains unchanged. The Weekend Team continues
to work closely with the school to develop programmes to complement the
school curriculum. Our programmes not only aid our pupils in their
academic endeavours but also expose them to a variety of activities in the
arts and sports.
Together with the support from the school and parents, NCAA will
continue to do our best in providing a holistic education for our pupils and
contributing to the growth of the school.
NCAA would like to thank the school, parents and pupils for your
unwavering support in the past year. We look forward to your kind support

Objectives:

ARC Primary 5 Talent Math Synopsis
Tyren Matve, a salesman, receives a
present from an unknown sender. He sets
out to solve the mystery behind the sender,
together with the help of John and Kelly, his
obliging neighbours.
ARC Primary 6 Talent Math Synopsis
Guided by the elusive Nurse Longsleep, a
visitor ventures into an eerie hospital and
encounters many eye-popping incidents at
different levels of the hospital, and ultimately
uncovers hidden secrets of the gloomy
hospital.
Objectives:
To entice the interest of pupils by using unique Math programmes that package higher order thinking
and non-routine questions into fun thematic modules.
Content:
Each TMP uses an interesting storyline to link up all its modules.
Students will assume the roles of the central characters as they venture to solve different mathematical
mysteries.
TMP course materials amalgamate problem-solving syllabus heuristics with carefully sieved questions. In a
progressive manner, students will be able to:
Enhance problem-solving skills via proven proprietary methodologies.
Enhance logical reasoning and cognitive processing skills.
Strengthen mathematical processes via higher order investigative thematic activities.
TMP, in addition to its enticing thematic platforms, also encompasses topical and cumulative reviews and
mock examinations that assess the extent of students’ abilities to apply their acquired knowledge on a
broader sense. Such reviews and assessments are scheduled to be in line with the participating school’s
assessment datelines, so students are able to reap benefits to improve their academic performance.

Brings an all-rounded approach to her classes through her experience as an instructor,
performer, producer and stage manager.

Objectives:
To provide pupils with interactive platforms to learn creative writing in a variety of refreshing and
engaging settings.
Content:
Develop a Thematic Story using a wide range of interesting articles with illustrations and activities.
Increase Vocabulary to expand the pupil’s word bank.
Cloze Passages representing creative problems to stimulate the pupil’s thinking skills.
Brainstorm Sessions for pupils to discuss and present their opinions about the characters, storyline
etc.
Comprehension whereby pupils answer questions, from direct quotes to inferred judgement, to
enhance their understanding of various passages.
Composition Writing to practise their writing skills with the resources supplied, while emphasizing on
basic grammatical rules as well.

Objectives / Content:
Badminton helps to develop all-rounded fitness. The sport strengthens your child’s legs, arms, wrists, and improves
the flexibility of their trunk, back, and shoulders. Our program comprises of two levels, the Beginner and Advanced
Level. Those who wish to join the Badminton class for the first time will have to enroll for the Beginner level. Our
Beginner Level will focus on improving your child’s basic skill, while our Advanced Level will emphasize competitive
training and a higher intensity workout. Outstanding students may qualify for the Nan Chiau Badminton School
Team.

宗旨/内容： 通过对这历史悠久，既能独奏又能合奏的乐器的认识，培养孩子感受美，鉴赏美，表现美，创造美的能力。
以基本的音乐理论开始，认识古筝的独特魅力，掌握重要技巧及听觉艺术。
培训校队接班人，高级组员将参加每年一次的国大华乐文凭考试。
指导老师 刘小英老师于1981年加入华乐界。师从多位著名的古筝演奏家。现为全职弹拨乐导师，累积了十余年的教学经验。

Objectives: To develop a lifelong appreciation of Guzheng music - one of the most ancient Chinese stringed instrument.
It is an important solo instrument and is often used in accompaniments as well.
To recruit new talent for the Nan Chiau Primary School team to compete in various performances and SYF
competition.
Content: Basic instruction on Guzheng techniques, performance, improvisation, ear training and basic music theory.
The course curriculum follows the syllabus from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.
Includes NUS Chinese instrument grading examination for the advance level.
Instructor: Ms. Liu Siau Jeng Full time professional zither instructor with sound experience.
