Our amplifiers are designed and built meticulously by hand in Southern California carefully selecting each component. Our legendary hand wound, custom made, paper bobbin transformers are used simply because they sound better. Our chassis’ and even our capacitors are made by hand in Southern California. Teflon wire and even details like real phenolic knobs are all made in the USA.

We engrave our own faceplates, double nut our custom potentiometers. No detail is too small. Hand wrapped 13 ply Baltic birch cabinetry. Custom built english made celestion speakers built to our exact specifications. Simply put we did what we set out to do and that is to build the finest guitar amplifiers in the world.

If you have ever wanted the amazing tone and feel our Black Cat 30, only with a more manageable volume, look no further than the Black Cat 15.Just like the 30-watt older brother, the Black Cat 15 is dripping in three dimensional cleans. Push up the gain and go from soft chiming breakup, on through to thick complex gain. Running in Class A, this rig is oozing with harmonics. Channel one is built on a 12AX7 treble, bass and cut tone stack providing the warm and sweet tone with just the right amount of mid push to cut through the mix.Switch over to channel two and experience the more aggressive, hi-fi sounding EF86 preamp. More chime, more grunt. The EF86 can be switched between the five-way tone selector or the bass and treble tone stack. The tone selector offers a selection of five-tone caps and enables you to adjust the amount of low end content to fit the guitar or situation. Carefully refined since its debut in 2000 with some subtle improvements from the early classic circuits.

Perhaps now it’s one of the finest amplifiers of its type. Fifteen watts of pure chime! Syrupy, sweet with a sheen of crystal highs. Low end that is warm and tight. Switch from the bass and treble control to the five-way tone selector and get a nice thick mid-range punch that will cut through any mix. With a master volume that can be switched in or out of the circuit. This combined with a half power switch enabling you to go from 15 to 7 watt will get your sound at small venue friendly volumes.

Soft breakup is where this amp leaves everything else behind. The touch sensitivity allows you to go from shimmer to grind with the touch of a pick. This amp fills a room with beautiful three-dimensional complex tones.

The Cub II is the weapon of choice for singer-songwriters. At home with single or double coil guitars. The Cub II has been seen on some of the largest stages in the world.Available with or without reverb.

Two channel hand-wired tone machine, measuring just 8” in height, by 14” in width, by 7” in depth, and only 27.00 lbs. in weight! Fifteen-watts, two EL84 power section packed carefully into an easily transportable chassis. Channel one is a true clean-to-mean 12AX7 based preamp that will give you articulate warm cleans that when pushed, glow with a soft drive. Dime it and walk into crunchy mid-heavy classic rock tones. Channel two presents a classic EF86 high gain channel. Grind with plenty of glass. There is a depth to the tone that you will not find on any other amp of this type.

Foot switch between the two-channels for stage versatility. You will find this little cat being played by some of the biggest artists in both studios and stages all over the world.

Sharing the lineage and design of the award winning Hot Cat 30, only in a 15-watt, club friendly platform. Two channels running into a dual EL84 Class A power sec-tion. Channel one, the cleans are 3-D lush and chiming. When pushed the cleans are full and punch through with a healthy dose of thick crunch. Full, round and tight with humbuckers. Sweet with plenty of sparkle and grind with single coils. Very touch sensitive.

Channel two is high gain and dripping with complex mids and tight lows. Full with amazing amounts of note definition. Ninth’s and thirteenth’s come out with upper harmonics resting above the fundamentals. This is an amazing Class A high gain circuit.

This is our take on the famous blackface sound that came out of California in the 1960’s. Punchy, articulate, sparkle without the sharp “ice pick” in the highs. We brought the sweet Bad Cat sound to this classic circuit. The gain is tighter and more usable with double coil guitars. Single coils have more shimmer to the notes. You will find that your guitar will sit in the mix better, with less volume needed to punch out.

Country, Classic Rock, Jazz, Blues it’s all here. Small and portable with a huge sounding, well designed cabinet. Available in a 1x12” combo, or head shell configuration. Hand-wired and hand-built construction harkens back to the way amps used to be made. Point-to-point, hand soldered, 16-gauge steel chassis insures this is an investment grade instrument built to last. Thirteen ply Baltic birch construction, built entirely by hand at our facilities in California.

This is the Bad Cat take on the famous 5E3 tweed style circuit that came out of California in the 1950’s. Simple, yet very versatile. Dime the volume and roll back your guitar volume for sweet cleans that spank and bounce.Even with double coils the Classic Cat provides plenty of twang. At a conservative 20 watts it works well in a live stage setting. just enough power to get over a drummer. Hot Cat Class A High Gain

Ten years ago Bad Cat created the worlds first Class A high gain amplifier. Five years later Guitar Player magazine recognized the achievement as being one of the finest combo amps ever built. Bad Cat has once again defined and refined the best. New for this year is the Hot Cat 30 and 30R. Both are built into the same 17”, 16-gauge steel chassis. If Bad Cat has a flagship, this is it.

We started with one of the nicest most touch responsive clean channel ever designed and added our 5-way tone selector, enabling the ability to tailor the amp to bright single coils or thick warm double coils. We’ve added a master volume that can be engaged and utilized to drive channel one into all shades from clean to soft pushed overdrive and beyond. The little secret that loyal users of the Hot Cat have known for years is that the clean channel crunches like the sounds found on vintage 70’s vinyl. Channel two is a pure Class A EL34 high gain. The same sweet harmonically rich gain only now with an added mid-range knob to help you dial into a rich scooped thump.

Each channel now has its own foot switchable solo boost with individual volume settings. This amp covers everything from clean sparkle to harmonically rich saturation. Available with reverb. Hot Cat 30 and Hot Cat 30R.

This is the one that started it all! The Black Cat’s pedigree is well known. The amp of choice for countless arena acts. Huge chimey 3-D cleans. A sound so delicate yet ferocious when pushed. You have never heard lows like this come from an EL84 amp. The 12AX7 side gives lush sweet and complex mid-range that works from warm punchy cleans through tight crunchy growl. Engage the master volume and get the dirt at any level.

Switch over to the EF86 and get a lesson in why the Black Cat is revered by so many diverse artists. Shimmering cleans that can be pushed lightly to fill the room with ghostly octaves and harmonics. Rev up channel two a little harder and push your sound into Class A nirvana. Note definition, highs that spray around the hall and a bottom end that never gets loose.

Dual reverb controls and dual masters that can be switched in or out of the circuit, half power switch which allows all of the magic to occur at manage-able volumes, round out the refinements. Start with the rich chime of the EF86 side of a Black Cat 30. Add lush reverb and pulsating tremolo and you have one of the finest single channel amps ever made. A 4 - EL84 30 watt power platform running in Class A provides the engine. The Trem Cat is a Guitar Player magazine Editors’ Award winner and perhaps our most versatile single channel amp.

The tone circuit is truly unique and affords unparalleled control over your tone shaping. There are two basic tonal options available. First, our five position tone cap selector and our standard bass and treble tone stack. The selector switch is the key to dialing in your sound. Position one bypasses the tone stack altogether and feels like you are plugged strait into your output section. Position two activates the five way tone selector. Allowing you five choices of tone caps and affording great control over the bottom end and thickness. Position three moves you over to the bass and treble controls. Here the amp has more of a scooped hi-fi type of feel. Lastly, position four engages both the selector and the bass and treble controls. Between the cut control which adds high end sparkle, near infinite tone shaping can be had here.

A master volume that can be switched out of the circuit along with a half power switch insures that you can get to any level of gain at just about any volume level.

The Panther is two channel, 35-watts with four 6V6 tubes running in Class A/B. Versatility is its calling card. Channel one is a 12AX7 based preamp with bass, mid, mid sweep and treble controls.

Our unique mid sweep allows you to choose the mid-range frequency via the switchable tone cap selector. The mid control pushes or scoops the frequency of choice. This is particularly useful when it comes to carving your space in the mix. Channel two is switchable between our standard 5-way tone selector, and bass and treble controls. Channel two is EF86 based and very aggressive, which can be pushed into thunderous overdrive.

Master volumes that can be switched out of the circuit are on each channel. A global cut control which adds a sweet chime. Whether your tone preference is British or American, the Panther can deliver.

Sometimes we build a custom amp for an artist that is so good that we want to offer it to everyone. The Stella and the Luca are just that. Both share simple single channel preamps based on opposite sides of the Wild Cat. Both have 40 watt EL34 based power sections running in class A.

The control panels consist of the classic Bad Cat preamp: volume, 5-way selector, bass, treble, cut and a master volume that can be switched out of the circuit.

The difference between these two rests in the first stage of the preamp. The Luca is built on a 12AX7 platform with all of the thick articulate and punchy midrange sweetness that goes with it. Think of an extended version of channel one of the Wild Cat. The Luca offers a switch between the 5-way tone selector and the traditional bass and treble tone stack. A feature not found on the Wild Cat’s channel one.

The Stella offers the same control layout only with an EF86 front end. All of the sweet grind and chime of the EF86 , combined with the full force of two two EL34 ‘s running in Class A.

The Luca and The Stella were made custom for touring artists and were just so good we had to offer them to everyone. Let us make one for you!

Two EL34’ s, Class A power section. Bold, aggressive with plenty of grunt and punch. Glassy highs riding over the top of the complex mids and tight lows. The Wild Cat shares a lineage with the Black Cat preamp section but that’s where the similarities end. Two foot switchable channels. Channel one is 12AX7 based with a standard bass and treble tone stack. This channel is warm with punchy tight mids and lows. Channel one produces thick and richly complex tones with just the right amount of high-end glass sitting on top. Great for mid heavy chunky rhythms or 70’s style crunch tones. Engage the master volume, which can be switched in or out of the channel circuit, to get stage friendly drive. Each channel has its own master that can be switched in or out.

Channel two is where this amp steps into its own. EF86 preamp pushed into either a five-way tone selector or a bass and treble tone stack, giving this amp a great flexibility in tone shaping. The five-way selector is a five-tone capacitor bank, that is switchable in five different values. Five differ-ent levels of low and mid control, gives you the ability to bypass the tone stack and essentially plug into the output power section. There is a three dimensional hi-fi feel to the sound. The mids are moved slightly forward and the highs become more transparent and clear. The amp sits in your hands more like an instrument.

Switch over to the bass and treble tone stack and get a sweeter more scooped type of tone. Beautiful cleans are to be had here, clear with lots of shimmer. Engage the master volume for channel two and push this is aggressive rock territory. Single note lines drip in harmonics, notes bloom and sing and allow you to play the amp like you would your guitar. Dual reverb controls and half power switch round out the features.

The baddest of the bad! This is our no holds barred, hard rock tone machine. When we set out to design the Lynx we wanted to build the best high gain amplifier on the market. We brought everything to the table and all the tricks we’ve have learned over the years.

Huge and full, but with a note articulation not found at these levels of gain. Saturation and tone is so full that the single notes are fat. Chords are deep and full because we run the power section in Class A to get your harmonics soaring in and out of chords and single notes at will. There is a complexity and three-dimensional quality to the sound of this amp that separates it from any other high gain amp.

The clean channel on the Lynx is much more than an afterthought. Running in Class A brings out all of the shimmer in the highs and ghost harmonics in a clean chording passage.

We brought the Bad Cat sound to high gain.

Big, bold and punchy! This 50-watt amp has tight lows that hold together even when overdriven hard. It’s unlike anything you have heard on a 6L6 amp. With highs that sparkle this amp boasts tons of clean headroom. The Fat Cat affords two distinct channels.

Channel one consists of a single volume control and the Bad Cat tone selector that many of you are familiar with in amps like the Hot Cat 30 and Black Cat. The magic of this arrangement is obvious from the first note played through it. Because the selector is a five-tone capacitor switch and not a potentiometer, your signal is running through one pot. Its as if you plugged straight into your output transformer. There is a purity and clarity of sound that is unmatched in any 6L6 amp. Full and warm with highs that spank. Engage the master and drive this amp into a sweet soft breakup or into 70’s crunch.

Channel two has a more traditional bass and treble tone stack to give it a big scoop and spanking cleans. More reminiscent of the sound that came out of California in the 1960’s. Only with a greater complexity and fullness. The highs are glassier – the lows hold together and punch through. Engage the channel two-master and go from pushed bluesy breakup to fusion and rock crunch.

We still haven’t told you the best part. The Fat Cat has a 1960’s style three-knob reverb section. This section is driven by its own single EL84 tube. Making this amp a true tube driven reverb tank. The flexibility of the reverb set-tings are amazing. Deep and lush, or subtle, up front or behind. It’s all there to craft your own sound.

If you have ever experienced the pleasure of playing a really fine vintage single-ended all tube amplifier then you’ll know the feeling. Touch sensitivity, sweet breakup and natural sounding compression. It changes the way you play – inspiring and pushing you as a player. The problem that arises with single-ended amplifiers is that they are limited to low wattage situations. Imagine having that touch sensitivity and tone at gig-able volumes. Until now this was impossible.

We’d like to introduce our newest cat the Bobcat. Hand-wired, single-ended, touch sensitive, ferocious and ultra light weight amplifier. Utilizing the patent pending Bad Cat Unleash technology, this little hand-wired beast is capable producing about 100 watts RMS from a single-ended amplifier.

High and low gain settings allow for spanky clean and snarling tones accessible by the included foot switch. Two foot-switchable Unleash volume levels allow for lead and rhythm volume settings.

The Unleash TechnologyWith the Unleash disengaged the Bobcat is essentially an elegant sweet sounding single ended 5-watt amplifier. Extension Cabinets

We put the same amount of care and detail into producing our cabinets that we do for our amplifiers. We select the best 13-ply Baltic birch around, CNC cut and hand glue each cabinet.

We use natural hide glues to wrap our cabinets, cutting every piece one at a time. We use the finest handle, feet and corners we can find and as well as Teflon speaker wire in our combos and extensions.

Head Shells

We are now building the Bad Cat head shells in Italian poplar. Although a bit more expensive to produce, we have found the wood is as strong as birch but about a third the weight. Our head shells benefit from being much lighter.

Unleash

The worlds first re-amplifier / attenuator. This device will take any amplifier from 1 to 100 watts and either attenuate or boost, from whis-per quiet in the bedroom, to 100 plus blaring watts in the club. Two foot switchable volumes controls allow for rhythm and lead volumes. Unleash also offers an effects loop and direct out. Another first from the engineers at Bad Cat.

Boost

The Unleash is very simple to use in application. To boost, plug the speaker output of your low wattage amp into the unleash input and the output of the unleash into a speaker cabinet. Now you have your favorite small wattage amp with the tone intact and 100 watts of avail-able power. Don’t forget that the unleash has an effects loop to plug that delay or chorus pedal into.

Attenuate

How often have you wound up the gain on your 100 watt fire breather, rolled back the volume on your attenuator and hit the front end with a booster and got nothing. It just got dirtier with no appreciable boost in volume. With The Unleash you have boost to spare without changing the tone that you took so long to dial in. Having to channels to switch between affords the ultimate clean boost. Try putting an EQ in the ef-fects loop and the tonal shaping options expand.

Sound

Transparent. The unleash leaves your tone intact like no attenuator that has come before it. The reactive load circuitry fools the tube amps output section into thinking it is still reacting with a speaker cabinet. It will bloom and squash just as if you are plugged into your cab.

Effects Loop

Don’t forget the ability to insert effects post tube power amp. Try plac-ing an EQ after your favorite amp and open all kinds of tonal possibili-ties.

The unleash come with a direct out to record or send to a board while doing away with the necessity of plugging you amp into a cab. This is useful for those late night recording sessions.

Our Celestion is one of the secrets to our sound. It has been described as having the sweet highs of the Alnico blues, but with the tight lows and punch of a ceramic.
