The foundation of KOMPERDELLStarted as a small turnery the company grew fast - alreadyin 1928 it employed 50 people – and developed into a lea-ding manufacturer of ski-poles.

The company continued to growDue to the increasing significance of skiing, KOMPERDELL concentrated their efforts more and more on the production ofski-poles and became one of the world’s largest ski-pole factories.

Our family buys KOMPERDELL. Encouraged by the success of their water-sports company CAMARO Erich and Heide Roiser looked for another challenge andbought KOMPERDELL. From then on KOMPERELL went international and became one of the leading companies when it came to know-how andinnovative technologies concerning ski- and trekking-poles. Productionwas transferred to Mondsee/Austria where it still is and providesemployment for over 100 locals.

“Since I am cooperating with Komperdell I have started to change

my opinion. Until then I have always used Aluminium poles because

I thought they were stiffer, more direct and of longer durability. The

F200+, however, has proved me wrong, combined with the Freeride

Light glove the pole provides enormously precise feedback and

control. The gloves are so sensitive that I like to wear them when

taking photos on cold days.“

“After a crash last year I was rather happy I wore a Komperdell

protector. It has saved my vertebra. Since then I am always with a

protector in the Back Country. It gives me the assurance that in a

case of emergency I have enough protection for my spine.

Regarding the poles I can only say “excellent”. The best friend of my

wrist is called F200, one of the strongest poles I know. I had my

poles a little altered (big baskets and another grip). At drop in it can

easily happen that the pole flies around you in two halves, but my

F200 never lets me down it stays in one piece. I have chosen this

pole because its easy to handle and robust “like hell”.

Since the beginning of the nineties we have produced poles forthe “Powder-snow skier.” This kind of skiing has become moreextreme and daring and developed into “Freeriding”. Is there anythingmore beautiful than virgin deep powder slopes and protruding rocksin steep terrain. For the Freeride youngsters who are not quite asextreme, ski resorts built fun-parks, waiting to be conquered.Freeriding, the trendy and cool type of winter sports conquersthe market.

We, therefore have decided to further increase our efforts in thisdomain and have discussed the possibilities of improvement with ourathletes. Being a leading producer of poles, we have put our products to hardest tests in order to improve quality and technology.

As Freeriding and Park & Pipe have become increasingly importantduring these last years, we accept the challenge and create polesespecially suited for this new and trendy sport.
