Please see the school website for important details about the following action items: Back-to-School Check List o Online Mandatory Forms and Information Update Due July 26 On July 8, a link to the Online Mandatory Forms and Information Update form will be emailed to one of the following: the “primary household email address” on last year’s form, the “Parent 1” email address from new student applications, or an updated household email address provided during the year. In cases of students with two households, one household email address has been designated to receive the link. Parents are asked to complete the online form by July 26. The online process asks parents to: Update contact and emergency information Verify that they have read and will abide by the Student-Parent Handbook Provide Emergency/Consent to Treat information Submit or verify prior submission of documentation for the Parent Service Program (Fingerprinting, Shield the Vulnerable, Parent Driver, Confidentiality and Volunteer Agreement Forms) o Students create their Apple ID by July 26 To expedite student access to apps and electronic books when iPads are distributed to students in August, all students (including those who already have another Apple ID/ iTunes account) are asked to create an Apple ID using their Troubiemail address. Parents, please read and share with your daughter the enclosed “Create Your Apple ID” gold flyer which provides the link to detailed instructions for creating Apple IDs. o Purchase Textbooks for summer reading and the fall semester The enclosed student schedule includes course name and course ID to use on the MBS Bookstore site to purchase books. MBS Direct is offering free shipping on orders over $99 between July 16 and 29 only. The list of electronic books is posted on the St. Francis website and includes links and instructions to purchase them. Students are asked to use their Apple ID account, when appropriate, to purchase ibooks so they will be readily accessible on their iPads. o Parent Signature Verification Card (New Parents Only) Due July 26 The Parent Signature Verification Card will be maintained on file in the office to confirm absence, tardy, and early dismissal notes. Please return to the school office by Julyl 26. o Purchase uniform items in time for the first day of school While the Troubie Store is closed for most of the summer, orders may be sent/faxed (916- 452-6046) to the school and picked up during (summer) school office hours, 8 AM to 4 PM. The Troubie Store will be open: July 16, 10 am to 2PM and August 7, 4-7 PM. o Apply for a Parking Permit, if necessary (Seniors & Juniors only) The online application for student parking permits will open for Seniors on July 16 at 9:00 AM and for Juniors on July 18 at 9:00 AM. Applications will only be accepted online. Applicants must enter their student ID# and information about the car they will be driving to school and pay a $50 fee by credit card. The student ID# can be found at the top of their Class Schedule next to their name. A limited number of permits are available on a first come, first served basis. Students must present a valid driver’s license when they pick up their permit at the start of school. A wait list will be formed when the maximum number is reached and for juniors and seniors who will get their license during the school year. SFHS CommunicationsKeeping Contact Information Current It is essential that St. Francis have at least one email address per household that is valid and checked regularly. Please notify the school if your email address changes or if you are not receiving St. Francis messages - by sending updates to [email protected].

Three Web-based programs for academic information and college planningThe parent login portals for Haiku, NetClassroom and Naviance can be found on the “Parents” section of the St. Francis website. New students will be given login instructions during orientations on August 12-13. Returning students and parents will maintain their existing usernames and passwords.

Haiku: Haiku Learning Management System (LMS) is used by teachers to post class curriculum, resources, assignments, class calendar and grades. Parents are able to log in to view their daughter’s assignments and gradebook. Parent logins for Haiku are set up in the following format:•Username for each parent: LastnameFirst3lettersoffirstname,

with each word capitalized and no space (e.g. Mary Smith = SmithMar or Elizabeth Johnson =JohnsonEli)

• Password: The original password is your 7-digit home phone number or cell number, including hyphen (e.g. 737-5023). You arepromptedtochangeituponfirstlogin.

NetClassroomNetClassroom is used to view Report Cards, attendance and conduct. The original login is the same as Haiku. Haiku and NetClassroom questions should be directed to [email protected].

NavianceNaviance Family Connection is a Guidance Department resource to help students and parents in the college selection and application pro-cess, seeking scholarships, and researching careers. Student course requests are also entered in Naviance each spring. Parents use their daughter’s login, then create their own accounts. Questions about Na-viance should be directed to Sunny Rivera, Assistant to the Guidance Department, at [email protected] or 737-5091.

Cafeteria PINsStudent cafeteria PINs are used during transactions to debit student cafeteria accounts. Parents are requested to write the student name and PIN on checks (made out to SFHS) and placed in the Cafeteria mailbox in themainoffice.PINsarebasedonstudent IDnumbers,which are printed on the enclosed schedule and also available on NetclassroomandNavianceaccounts.TheCafeteriaPIN is thefivedigit number created by the last two digits of a student’s class year and the last three digits of her ID, e.g. if the student ID is 2017-876, her cafeteria PIN is 17876.
