Programme Aim

On successful completion of the

programme, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate their skills and knowledge in the

core and applied areas of sports science

including anatomy, biomechanics, exercise

physiology, sociocultural, psychology,

nutrition and motor control.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the

programme, students will be able to:

• Critically evaluate the concepts of

curriculum development and delivery as

well as aspects of pedagogy related to

sports science

• Demonstrate their effective learning in

sports science by means of oral

presentations, laboratory reports and

written essays, and through completion

of an Honours research project.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

• The programme will operate in a blendeddelivery mode in which the courses willbe conducted by means of face-to-facelectures, tutorials, laboratories and e-learning.

• The medium of instruction in theprogramme will be ENGLISH andsupplemented with Chinese whennecessary.

• To identify a research topic related to sportsscience and physical education (if applicable),review the relevant literature, write a researchproposal, adopt appropriate methods of collectingand analyzing data, present research findings, andsubmit a research report.

• Financial support is provided for conducting theresearch

Admission Requirements

• Year 3 Admission Scheme: The applicants who are AD or HDgraduates in relevant discipline (i.e. Physical Education orSports-related disciplines), with a good GPA.

• Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from aninstitution in a non-English speaking system should normallyfulfil one of the following minimum English language proficiencyrequirements:

• Level 2 / Grade E or above in the HKCEE English Language(applicable to holders of Associate Degree / HigherDiploma qualification from a recognised local tertiaryinstitution); or

• Grade E or above in AS Use of English in the HKALE; or ascore of 550 or above in the paper-based TOEFL (213 orabove in the computer-based, and 80 or above in theinternet-based); or

• A minimum overall band of 6 in the academic version ofIELTS; or
