Operation – To Raise
• Locate jack under aircraft lifting point.
• Raise towbar to lower cylinder to ground.
• Raise rain hat and unscrew screw extension as required.
• Close release valve.
• Operate pump until rams have raised aircraft to desired height.

Operation – To Lower
• Slowly open release valve.
– Opening release valve too quickly will cause restrictor fuse to actuate, resulting in the rams lowering very slowly.
– To reset the restrictor fuse, close release valve, operate hand pump 1-2 strokes. Open release valve slowly to lower rams.
• When load is removed from cylinder rams, accumulator will “power retract” rams to their fully collapsed position.

Operation – To Lower
• Lower screw extension completely.
• Place rain hat over cylinder.

• To verify/recharge the nitrogen pressure in the accumulator:
– Open release valve on console and insure rams are fully collapsed.
Special Maintenance Instructions
– Open accumulator isolation valve under frame.
– Attach 0-300 psi test gauge to top of accumulator.
– Verify accumulator charge is 225 + 5 psi. Re-charge as necessary with nitrogen.
– Close accumulator isolation valve.

• To recharge hydraulic fluid pressure in the accumulator:
– Open release valve on console.
– Attach 0-600 psi test gauge to test port at bottom of accumulator.
– Close release valve on console.
– Fully extend both cylinder rams.
– Open accumulator isolation valve under frame.
– Loosen hose fitting at top of cylinder assembly.

Special Maintenance Instructions
– Using hand pump, slowly pump hydraulic fluid until all entrapped air is removed.
– Tighten hose fitting at top of cylinder assembly.
– Loosen gauge fitting at test port at bottom of accumulator.
– Using hand pump, slowly pump hydraulic fluid until all entrapped air is removed.
– Tighten gauge fitting at test port.
– Using hand pump, pressurize system to 425 psi maximum.
– Close accumulator isolation valve under frame.

Special Maintenance Instructions
– As there may be some residual pressure in the system, slowly remove gauge from test port on bottom of accumulator and install cap.
– Cycle rams several times to verify smooth extension and retraction.
– Open release valve on console and verify rams retract fully.
