General Information and PoliciesThe Faculty offers a limited number of scholarships, fellowships, bursaries and special awards, as well as Graduate Research Scholarships, GraduateTeaching Assistantships, and Graduate Service Assistantships (please refer to “University Assistantships” in the Faculty of Graduate Studies section ofthis Calendar). Financial assistance is awarded by the Student Awards Committee of the Faculty. In order to be considered, students are required tocomplete an application for financial assistance, and to be eligible for Graduate Research Scholarships they are required to submit a research proposalendorsed by a Faculty member. Graduate Teaching Assistantships are rarely awarded. All applicants and students registered in the Faculty shouldconsult the appropriate sections of the Calendar for the availability of financial assistance in all forms and to apprise themselves of the deadline datesfor application to the Faculty and other granting bodies.
Awards in the Faculty of Environmental Design
The awards listed below are, under the conditions described, open to students registered in or proceeding to a full-time program within the Faculty ofEnvironmental Design. Unless otherwise noted, no applications are necessary as all eligible students are automatically considered. For information onawards offered by agencies external to the University, students should refer to the “Awards for Graduate Study” booklet available from the Faculty ofGraduate Studies, University of Calgary, 2500 University Drive N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 1N4.
The University assumes liability for the payment of scholarships, bursaries, prizes and other awards only to the extent that gifts from donors, or returnsfrom particular investments for these purposes will permit.
As this information is published a considerable time before the opening of the session, the University reserves the right to make whatever changescircumstances may require, including cancellation or addition of particular awards.
