AWAPATENT TRA INEE PROGRAMME

Give us a quick glimpse of your role

and background.

I work as an Associate in the Chem-

Mech-team in Awapatent’s Gothenburg

office. My background is in Chemical

Engineering and I have a PhD in Materi-

al Technology.

Why did you apply for the trainee

programme at Awapatent?

I wanted to try something new, and I

came across Awapatent at a career fair.

I understood that working as a patent

consultant would allow me to contin-

ue working with research, but from a

new perspective. Since I didn’t know

anything about patents, the trainee pro-

gramme was the perfect place to start.

In your opinion, what is the best aspect

of being a trainee at Awapatent?

You learn the necessary basics about

patents and other IP rights, but you

also get to travel and network with

colleagues at different offices.

What has the trainee programme

meant to your career?

Everything. I would not have been able

to hit the ground running at Awapatent

as well as I did if I hadn’t completed

the programme.

What’s your advice to future

applicants?

Don’t hesitate, just apply! You won’t

regret it.

Give us a quick glimpse of your

background.

My background is in Mechanical

Engineering with a major in Product

Innovation Management and a BA in

Business Studies.

Why did you apply for the trainee

programme at Awapatent?

I wanted to combine technical know-

ledge with business acumen and use

it for managing client contacts and

delivering value to the customer. I also

wanted to work with cutting-edge tech-

nology. The idea of merging theory with

practice right from the start attracted

me as well.

In your opinion, what is the best aspect

of being a trainee at Awapatent?

Working with new colleagues at differ-

ent offices (let’s not forget all the after

works – an excellent opportunity to

socialise after working hours!)

What’s your advice to future

applicants?

Have fun and socialise with your

future colleagues whenever you get

the chance!
