The Benefits of being righteous (Jesus) Conscious

I.I have peace with GodRom 5:1 Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God

because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. NLT

What has Jesus done for us?

Rom 4:23 And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn't just for Abraham's benefit. It wasrecorded

Rom 4:24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe inHim, the One who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

Rom 4:25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and He was raised to life to make us rightwith God. NLT

Rom 4:25 Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure ourjustification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt beforeGod]. AMP

    1. He died to set us free from the penalty of our sins: shame, guilt, and condemnation2. He rose again to secure forever our righteousness: qualifying us for His promisesBecause of what Jesus did for us in making us innocent, and free from all guilt before God, we canhave perfect peace with God

The word peace in this verse comes from the Greek word G1515 . According to theStrongs concordance it means: (tojoin);peace (literally or figuratively); by implicationprosperity: -one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.

Peace means: to be bound, joined with God as one. It means to be assured, confident, and secure inthe love and care of God. -practical word studies in the NT

The first benefit of being made righteous by faith, instead of works, is peace with God. Peace is the

fruit of relating to God on the basis of faith in what Jesus did for us instead of what we do for Him.Those who think they must perform up to some standard to be approved by God will never experiencetrue peace. They will always wonder whether their doing enough to qualify for His favor and blessings

We were incapable of living holy enough to please God before we were saved, and we are incapable ofliving holy enough to please God now that we are saved (Heb 11:6). We were saved by faith, and wehave to continue to walk with God by faith (Col 2:6). Not understanding this has caused many

Christians who love God not to enjoy the peace that was provided for them through faith in Jesus. This is the Gospel of peace (Lu 2:14, Ro 10:15, and Eph 6:15).- Andrew Wommack

Unrighteous (self) conscious= Gods opinion of me changes based on my behavior = fear Righteous (Jesus) conscious: My Fathers good opinion of me never changes because of what

Jesus did for me = Peace

Isa 54:9-10 "This exile is just like the days of Noah for me: I promised then that the waters of Noah wouldnever again flood the earth. I'm promising now no more anger, no more dressing you down. The Message9 I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you. NLT10 Isa 54:10 For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won't

walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won't fall apart." The GOD who hascompassion on you says so. The Message

II. I stand secure in His grace = peaceRom 5:2 Through Him also we have [our] accessby faith into this grace (state of God's favor)

in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing andenjoying the glory of God. AMP

Grace: From G5463; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life -acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, joy liberality, pleasure- Strongs

Hope:G1680 From elpo which is a primary word (to anticipate, usually with pleasure); expectation orconfidence-Strongs A confident expectation of good

Glory of God:doxa (G1391), "glory" primarily signifies an opinion, the honor resulting from a goodopinion. It is used of the nature and acts of God in self-manifestation, i.e., what He essentially is anddoes- Vines New Testament

Unrighteous (self) conscious: Im not sure of Gods opinion of me. Im not sure He willhelp me and take care of me.

Righteous (Jesus) conscious: Through Jesus, I have access by faith into this grace (thepower and favor of God) in which I firmly stand. And I rejoice in my confident expectation ofexperiencing and enjoying myFathers good opinion ofme- the manifestation of who He is-and who I am in Him.

III. So I can rejoice when I face trials because I know how dearly my Father lovesme= Peace

Rom 5:3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help usdevelop endurance.

Rom 5:4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident

hope of salvation. NLTRom 5:5 Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in

our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. AMPRom 5:5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us,

because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. NLT

Confident hope ofSalvation: soteria (G4991) the present experience of God's power to deliver from the bondageof sin, inclusively, to sum up all the blessings bestowed by God on men in Christ through the Holy Spirit, (vines NewTestament)

For the righteous, trials develop endurance, strength of character, and confident hope ofsalvation (the manifestation of Gods promise) in us- We can rejoice knowing our Father will

demonstrate His salvation in every trial we face.-He is working everything together for ourgood When we are self (unrighteous) conscious, we focus on what we did wrong, when we are Jesus

(righteous) conscious we focus on what Jesus did to make us right and qualify us for Hissalvation in every situation

This hope of salvation I have in Jesus will not lead to disappointment because I know howdearly my Father loves me

When we are righteous (Jesus) conscious we live free from shame, deception, anddisappointment during our trials because we are secure in His love and we have a confidentexpectation of good coming out of every difficult situation we face.See Psalm 112:6-8 & Psalm 34:17-19; John 16:33

Psa 112:6 Those who are righteous will be long remembered.Psa 112:7 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them.Psa 112:8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. NLT

Righteous (Jesus) conscious: Father, I know you love me and even this will work out for mygood. Jesus you overcame this for me.

When we believe that God loves us and we are righteous because of our faith in Him, and not becauseof our performance for Him, then we rejoice--not only in the good times, but also in the hard times. Our faith remains steadfast. However, those who trust in their own efforts will be devastated in timesof trouble because they will know they are getting what they deserve, and they will feel that they haveto clean up their act before they can expect any help. Their attention will be on self instead of Jesus, the Author and Finisher of their faith (Heb 12:2). Paul continued this same thought on through Ro5:10. In 5:6-8, he illustrated how great the love of God was for us in that He died for us when we wereungodly. Then he drew a conclusion by way of comparison: If God could work in his life to bring himto justification while he was a sinner, then how much more, now that he was reconciled to God, willGod work whatever comes against him for his good!-Andrew Wommack

A trial is a circumstance that looks the opposite of what God says is true about us- a temptation tobelieve a lie over the truth

    10. any negative circumstance or temptation Psalm 34:17-19; I Corinthians 10:13

How do I know for sure that God loves me personally?

God proved His love for me by making me righteous in Jesus!

Rom 5:6 While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ diedfor the ungodly.

Rom 5:7 Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, thoughperhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die.

Rom 5:8 But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were stillsinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.

Rom 5:9 Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into rightrelationship with God) by Christ's blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved byHim from the indignation and wrath of God.

Rom 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it ismuch more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin'sdominion) through His [resurrection] life.

Rom 5:11 Not only so, but we also rejoice and exultingly glory in God [in His love and perfection]through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have now received and enjoy [our]reconciliation. AMP How can I be absolutely sure my Father loves me? Even when I was a sinner, Jesus died so

that I could be righteous. The gift of righteousness forever proves His great love for me! The revelation of righteousness as a free gift is what has forever solitified in my heart that I am

truly loved byJesus and my Heavenly Father. My circumstances do not determine Gods lovefor me. His gift of righteousness proves His love for me! I never have to wonder again. I can

live loved and free when I live righteousness (Jesus) conscious knowing He is at work on mybehalf! I am powerless to save myself and when I realize that and turn to Jesus in every trial, I will

experience His salvation in every area of my life.
