A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail. Veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth. A precise shade can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured tooth or to lighten front teeth. Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy. Because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond very little preparation of the tooth is needed. Multiple Veneers can be used for Smile Makeovers. We are able to use CEREC® to make veneers and even do Smile Makeovers in one appointment. What are the signs?

• Gums are red, swollen and bleed easily

• Periodontal pockets — plaque begins to form below the gum line, gums recede and pockets form

• Not all symptoms of gum disease are painful!

Gum Disease Causes

• Poor dental hygiene

• Immune-related illnesses (cancer, HIV, diabetes)

• Sugar – Feeds bacteria. Avoiding this in your diet will be important for gum health

You can keep mild cases of gum disease at bay by maintaining good levels of oral hygiene, this

includes brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing and attending regular dental check-ups.

If you want to reverse gum disease, you must start with a healthy diet high in fibre, vitamins,

minerals and healthy fats.
