Welcome back, welcome to the Autumn term and a huge welcome to all of our new students. I hope you all had a fun-filled Summer holiday, despite all the rain, and are returning refreshed and ready for the term ahead. Congratulations to all those who took Modern, Tap and Ballet exams at the end of last term. I am thrilled to say the results were, once again, outstanding – I am so, so proud. I have had a busy Summer break setting up our new office in Ashley Cross – we are based behind Leader & Co Estate Agents, so please drop in for a cup of tea when you are passing, we would love to see you. The school has grown so much recently that I can no longer run it singlehandedly, so Miss Laura will now assist me as Assistant Principal of the school and Karen Nisbet will be our Student Co-ordinator, providing parent liaison. This term we will start working on Narnia. We have auditions for the principal parts and we will begin show work, so lots of hard work and fun ahead. It really is going to be the biggest and best show yet. As always, thank you for your support and we look forward to a fantastic term ahead. Miss Zoe PLEASE NOTE, CENTRE STAGE OFFICE NOW HAS A NEW TELEPHONE NUMBER 01202 733 231 ISTD TAP & MODERN EXAMS 48 students were entered into the ISTD tap and modern exams this year, which took place over the weekend of June 6th and 7th. The results were outstanding, with 100% pass rate of distinctions and merits. Well done to each and every one of you, your hard work really paid off and I am so proud. Our examiner, Miss Ball, was the most prestigious examiner we have ever had. She was the original Annie Time Annie in the UK West End for its entire run. She is also head of TAP for the ISTD! It was a real honour for our students to have been examined by such an acclaimed examiner. RAD BALLET EXAMS 68 students were entered into the RAD ballet exams this year, which took place on 4th July and were examined by Miss Ann Hallet –a very established and experienced examiner of 50 years! Again, I am absolutely delighted to say that the results were incredible, with 100% pass rate of Distinctions and Merits! Our vocational girls Italia, Kiera and Emily also passed their Grade Seven Ballet exam, having taken it at London HQ! Amazing success! END OF TERM SHOWCASE On Saturday 11th July, our Performing Arts students held their end of term Showcase. Yet again, it was a packed house – we definitely need a bigger venue! It is always amazing to see what our students are capable of achieving in just one term and, as always, the standard was really high and enjoyed by everyone who came to watch. This was also a fundraising event and from the door takings, raffle and refreshments, we managed to raise a record-breaking (for us, at one of these events) £300 which will be donated to Cancer Research. SUMMER SCHOOLThank you to every single one of you who attended our Summer Schools this year. What a resounding success they were. So much fun was had in both and we will definitely run these again in 2016 given how popular and enjoyable they were. There were too many highlights to mention, but it was especially nice to welcome some of our industry guests and try so many new and different activities.

POOLE SCANNER APPEAL DONATIONThis year, Centre Stage is supporting two charities – one National and one Local. Our National Charity is Cancer Research and our chosen Local charity is the Poole Hospital Scanner Appeal.

In July, Centre Stage donated a cheque for £3,000 to Poole Hospital’s PET/CT scanner appeal, £1,500 of which was from the school’s fundraising activities so far this year, matched by £1,500 from Zoe.

This is obviously a cause very close to my heart. Technology like this saved my life and I am so grateful to Poole Hospital for everything they have done for me throughout the course of my treatment. Centre Stage students should be extremely proud that they had a very large part in funding vital technology which, quite simply, will save lives.

All funds raised for the remainder of this year will be donated to our National charity, Cancer Research.
