THE MAMMOGRAPHY Quality Standards Actof 1994 requires that radiology facilities
provide mammographic examinations in compliance with regulations regarding the quality controlof their mammography units and film processors.
Compliance with these regulations requires anenormous amount of paperwork in order to document testing, analyze equipment function, andproduce reports for regulatory authorities.
The speaker will describe a database design forequipment tracking which can reduce testing, analysis and reporting time and also allow the user toestablish test protocols, reminders and warningflags in order to catch out of tolerance results. Thistesting engine, test protocol set-up steps, testing

procedures and reporting utilities will be describedas well as graphical and statistical analysis functions.
The speaker will also discuss quality controlinformation management in general, and the strategic role of computer automated data collection andanalysis in improving operational performance,optimizing resource utilization and reducing costs.
