3.4.3 Control Unit and Changeover connection

Only an authorised electrician may perform the electrical installation and maintenance of OTM_ automatic transfer switches. Do not attempt any installation or maintenance actions when an OTM_ automatic transfer switch is connected to the electrical mains.

Avoid to attach or insert terminals when the terminal voltage 380V a.c

4. Operating

Never open any covers on the product. There may be dangerous external control voltages inside the automatic transfer switch even if the voltage is turned off.

Never handle control cables when the voltage of the automatic transfer switch or external control circuits are connected.

You must operate automatic transfer switch manually before the voltage is connected.

4.1 Manual operation You can operate the automatic transfer switch manually by using the handle that is

included in the delivery. To operate the automatic transfer switch manually: a. Turn selector to the MANU position on control unit. b. Turn the AUTO/MANU selector to the MANU position on changeover switch.

c. Attach the handle by pressing it to the changeover switch until it clicks into place

When mechanism is not parked on ON/I,OFF,ON/II position base on severe abnormalities. You need to tap the handle to make it to the right place, and operate the switch manually. Remark: you need to press the handle and the mechanism and motor off.

d. Operate the changeover switch by handle to the required position(I,O.II).

4.2 Electrical operation/Manual Mode Electrical operation is means that turn the knob to sent a signal to operate

changeover switch, U1 colse;U1,U2 open; U2 close.

a.Release the handle from the changeover switch panel by pressing down the locking latch under the switch panel and pulling the handle off.

b.Turn the AUTO/MANU selection switch to AUTO position.

c.Turn the knob to the required position(U1 close;U1,U2 open;U2 close). And the mechanism has delay time function, parameter setting shown in Section 6.

U1 close U1 U2 open U2 close

4.3 Electrical operating/Automatic Mode a. Make sure that the handle has been removed before electrical operation

(automatic mode). b. Turn the AUTO/MANU selection switch to the AUTO position. c. Parameter setting refer to Section 6. d. Control unit can detect and control changeover switch after setting.

The mechanism does not run if A phase and C phase missing of U1 and U2 at the same time, then just only operate the switch manually by using handle.

4.4 Locking

4.4.1 Locking the electrical operation You can lock the electrical operation in all position(I,O,II). a.Pull up the locking latch under the changeover switch panel. b.Place the padlock under the latch .

5... 6

The handle cannot be attached when electrical operation is locked.

4.4.2 Locking the manual operation

Manual operation can only be locked on position O. a.Turn the handle to the required position. b.Pull out the clip from the handle and place the padlock on the handle.

The handle cannot be removed when manual operation is locked, and manual operation and electrical operation disable.

5.4 Control unit function and threshold setting

1. under-voltage transfer When UI has under-voltage fault, control unit sent a signal to transfer to U2. The value of under-voltage threshold is adjustable ,the range:70%~90% Ue. When control unit detects the under-voltage fault of U1 and U2 (less than 70%Ue)at the same time, control unit will sent a signal to transfer to O position.

3. Phase missing transfer When UI has phase missing fault, control unit sent a signal to transfer to U2. When control unit detects phase missing fault of U1and U2 at the same time, control unit will sent a signal to transfer to O position. Motor operator is not working when A phase and C phase missing at the same time. 4.Delay time setting T1:Power state confirmation time .It means that the time from the controller monitor a failure to confirm it or from monitor the failure is recovered to confirm it. T2:Power supply close delay time .It means that the shortest delay time from O position to I or II position. Remark: delay time threshold:0,3,5,10,15,20,30 seconds.

5.Alarm When control unit sent a conversion signal, the change-over switch execute command failed, then control unit stops to sent a conversion signal and sent a alarm signal. Control unit CB010 Fault light and alarm light blink, and has an alarm sound. Control unit CB011 Refusing to perform light and alarm light blink, and has an alarm sound.

Control unit CB010 do not have refusing to perform light.

You need to press the reset botton to reset to automatic mode of control unit after waiting to the failure relieved.

Page 17: Automatic transfer switch (Class CB) DPT-CB010/CB011 Installation

- 14 -

6.Trip alarm When the load failure cause breaker tripped: Control unit CB010 fault light and alarm light blink, and has an alarm sound. Control unit CB011 tripped light and alarm light blink, and has an alarm sound.

When breakers tripped caused by overload or short circuit of primary line, changeover cannot change to secondary line automatically .Then you must to check the cause and finish processing ,kickback the breakers manually.

DPT63 model do not have this function.

7.Phase missing alarm When power supply has phase missing fault: Control unit CB010 fault light and alarm light blink, and has an alarm sound. Control unit CB011 phase missing light and alarm light blink, and has an alarm sound. 8. over-voltage and under-voltage alarm Control unit alarm light and trouble light blink and has an alarm sound when power supply has over-voltage or under-voltage fault. 9. Alarm for N pole wrong connection For 4 pole, when you connect N pole wiring into A,B or C phase: Control unit CB010 fault light and alarm light blink ,and has an alarm sound. Control unit CB011 overvoltage light and alarm light blink ,and has an alarm sound. 10.Fire fighting When fire control centre sent a fire signal to control unit, control unit will sent a conversion signal to transfer the switch to O position. And alarm light blink, has an alarm sound. Connections shown in Section 7.

You need to press the reset botton to reset the automatic mode after fire fighting relieved.

The signal send by fire control centre should be 24V d.c., more than 1 second.

11.Generator Start Automatically As electric power for primary line, and generator for secondary line, control unit will sent out a signal to start generator when there is a fault of power supply, waiting for generator power stable ,then change-over switch will transfer to secondary line. Connections shown in Section 7.

7.2 Troubleshooting

S/N state analysis action

1 Power supply normally, the controller without any display

1.Cables are not connected terminals 2.The cable has loosen which it was

connected controller and changeover switch.

1.Check it and connect it again 2.Check it and plug in again

2 Controller is connected, but it can not automatic transfer.

1.Control unit or changeover switch is on manual state, or electrical locking ,or handle mounted.

2.Terminal loose 3.Fuse is broken 4.delay time setting is wrong 5.Fire fighting signal input to controller 6.Voltage is out of the normal range

1.Change to automatic Mode or relieve electrical locking or remove the handle

2.Check it and plug in again 3.Change fuse 4.Modify the delay time setting 5.Cancel the fire fighting signal 6.Check voltage, make sure the

voltage range in 70% ~130%.

3 OTM_C_D transfer continually

1.loose or poor connect between cable and terminal 2.Voltage fluctuating, and the fluctuation range beyond the overvoltage or under voltage setting value

1.Check the connections 2.Reset the value of overvoltage or under-voltage(eg.change115% to 125%) or enlarge changeover delay time setting

4 Primary line is normal, but DPT change to secondary line

terminal connection loose(primary line terminal or control unit connection) Check and troubleshooting

5 Fire fighting fault

1.fire fighting is not 24V d.c. 2.fire fighting signal is in wrong polarity 3.fire fighting signal lasts less than 1 second

Please input the correct fire fighting signal, it must be 24V.d.c.and last more than 1 second.

6 Power supply normally, but control unit display phase lost

1.loose or poor connect between cable and terminal Check and troubleshooting

7

CB010 has been at trouble alarm

1.line loss phase missing 2.N pole is connected mistakenly to A,B
