Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Welcome to Week 6 and the half-way point in the term. It is great to see all of
our students hard at work in the classrooms, and playing beautifully in the
playground. Our school’s PBL values of being safe, respectful and on task are
evident everywhere you look around our school.
Parent Meetings
Thank you to all families who have attended meetings at school with our
teachers over the past few weeks. We have held Learning Support Plan
meetings, Personalised Learning Pathway meetings and tonight will be holding
Three-way Interviews where the teacher, child and parent meet to discuss how
they are settling into the term and establish some short and long term goals for
the future. Meetings for our support class students and families will be held next
Thursday 14th March. At CPS we greatly value our home-school partnerships
and are committed to developing strong relationships with all of our families. If
you missed out on booking an interview, it’s not too late - just contact the office
on 63422400 to arrange an appointment with your child’s teacher.
Kindergarten Eye Screening
A huge thank you is extended to Mr Rob Webster and his staff at ‘Webster’s
Optometrists’ for conducting vision screening assessments on all of our Kinder
students. With 66 Kinder students enrolled, this was no easy task! The screenings
have taken place over two weeks and parents will have received a short note
indicating if their child has had any difficulties with any aspects of the test.
Optometry Australia recommends a comprehensive eye examination at the
beginning of school and at regular intervals (every 2-3 years) thereafter. If your
child has any vision concerns, please contact Webster’s Optometrists on
63422502 to arrange an appointment.
Extra-curricular Activities
Over the next few weeks many of our students will be out and about at various
sporting and cultural activities. Excursions have been organised for the Boys and
Girls AFL Paul Kelly Cup competition, Western Region Swimming Carnival in
Dubbo, a free Questacon Science Show visit for all students, Festival of
International Understanding, origami workshops, the Infants Easter Hat Parade,
Hockey Gala Day and our school Cross Country which is set down for the last
day of term! Thank you to the teachers for their efforts in planning and
organising such a wide range of ‘extra’ activities for our students. Please ensure
you return all permission notes and keep up to date with what’s happening via
the weekly Newsletter, school website and the Cowra Public School Facebook
page.
CPS School Fete!
Be sure to mark Friday April 5th in your diaries! Our P&C will be holding a School
Fete which is one of their major fundraisers for the year. The fete committee are
working hard behind the scenes to get everything organised and would
welcome any assistance! We require donations of Jazzy Jars and helpers to
work on stalls. The next Fete meeting will be held on Monday, 18th March at the
Cowra Services Club at 6pm. All welcome.

PBL Whole School Acknowledgement
Tomorrow afternoon we will hold our first whole school PBL Acknowledgement for 2019. Students have
been busy filling up our first “star” in the Assembly Hall with positive behaviour stickers and have opted for
an Electronic/Board Games afternoon to celebrate their safe, respectful and on-task behaviour. Students
are invited to bring along a personal device or a board game to play between 2-3pm. For students
unable to bring a device or game, each class teacher will have a range of laptops, IPads and the
interactive whiteboard as well as other games so that all students are able to access this reward. Please
ensure all items are labelled with your child’s name and passed on to their class teacher on Friday morning
for safe-keeping. Congratulations CPS!
Have a great week…
