WELCOME
From June 24th to 28th 2019, Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital will host in Rome the 5th Internatio-nal Conference of Esophageal Atresia (INoEA) - in collaboration with the European support group for the Esophageal Atresia (EAT) and the Italian Association of Families with Esophageal Atresia (FATE) - and the 2nd Meeting of the International Network of Pediatric Airways Team (INPAT), organized together with the Airway Team of Gaslini Institute of Genoa.
It promises to be a memorable weeklong event in Rome – held in the year that marks the 150th anni-versary of the Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital.
This will be the first international joint session of INoEA and INPAT and it will bring together pro-fessionals specialized in the treatment and management of complex and fragile patients affected by Esophageal Atresia/Tracheo-esophageal fistula and other aerodigestive tract anomalies.
The INPAT meeting will start on 26th, on 27th June INoEA and INPAT will come together in one place to discuss the latest scientific and medical research in their fields. On 28th INoEA will conclude its meeting and the esophageal atresia week.
On 24th and 25th June there will be a Workshop that will offer practical live training sessions on endoscopic, surgical and minimally invasive procedures. Participants will be involved in hands-on practical activities, simulation boxes, demonstrations of rehabilitation strategies and techniques for both medical teams and families. There will be activities dedicated to children born with Esophageal Atresia/Tracheo-esophageal fistula, aimed at addressing some of their most persistent eating diffi-culties. It’s Rome, so food will be involved!
These patients require dedicated multi-disciplinary teams, working in close collaboration with va-rious specialists, families, nurses and other health care providers. In this spirit, the workshops will offer a unique opportunity to meet the leading specialists in the world, to discuss and share ideas on how best to tackle some of the most controversial and pressing issues of pediatric surgery. Young and adult patients, as well as their parents and caretakers, will actively participate in the workshop, bringing their own experiences, the results of recent studies and will pose questions on the most chal-lenging issues related to the quality of life of patients, while learning about state-of-the-art surgical and rehabilitation techniques.
Rome is the Eternal City where legend has it a she-wolf nourished to good health the city’s most fa-mously fragile twins, Romolo and Remo. In a myth that Romans are fond of retelling, the twins later grew up to found this wondrous city. What’s true today is this: together, we can improve the lives of those born with these rare diseases by developing and sharing best-practice. We look forward to seeing you in Romolo and Remo’s city where we can make important new contributions to this goal. Arrivederci a Roma

Presentation Guidelines
Timing The presentation time for each Speaker slot is indicated on the program
Preparation All presentations must be in PowerPoint (PPT): PPT slides sizes should all be 16:9 aspect ratio. Please use the INPAT - INOEA Introduction Slide as the first slide of your presentation (available for download). It will be used for internal organization and sorting purposes. Save all your files on a USB Storage Device. When creating your presentation, make sure to save any external files linked within your presentation in the same folder as the presentation. When creating your media for transportation, copy the entire folder to the disk. It is advisable to make a back-up copy of your files and transport them in a separate piece of luggage.
Movies: PowerPoint movies: using the WMV format is the safest way to ensure that movies are embedded in PowerPoint i.e. and becomes part of the PowerPoint file. PowerPoint refers to most other video formats i.e. which means it remains an external file. It is imperative to check your movies in the speakers slide center if your presentation contains video files. Please be aware of the size of your video files. In most cases, video files with lower resolution are very effective. While the technical team tries to support as many PC video formats as possible, it can only accept movies in the following conditions: Please take steps to compress your videos. Uncompressed videos will take longer to upload and will not be better quality than a modern MPEG-4 codec. We can only accept movies created as MPGs, WMVs, or with the following AVI codecs: MPEG-4 (Divx, Xvid, or WMVs). Apple Quicktime formats such as MOV, QT, or DV files are NOT supported in Windows PowerPoint. Options to convert these movies to a Windows compatible AVI are discussed below in Considerations for Mac Users.
MAC Users: All presentations will be run from Microsoft Windows machines and the following need to be considered: All presentations created on Mac must be saved in PPTX format or alternatively in PDF format. Do not use special fonts or transitions in your presentations as this will not work. It is important that movies do not completely fill the screen
In the meeting room, the presenters will have only one mouse to advance the slides. Presenters can only advance the PowerPoint with a mouse by clicking on the slide, not the movie itself.
Fonts: the technical team only supply fonts that are included in Office 2010 or later versions. If the presenters need a specialized font, they should be embedded into the PowerPoint presentation.
