However trite the saying may be it certainly is true in my work with The Relief Bus. And like any professional I need certain tools to accomplish part of my mission to love and help the poor and homeless in NYC. At this time my trusty Nikon d100 DSLR camera has seen too much and it’s shutter and image-writing capabilities are nearing their end. The amazing thing about that camera is that it was given to me years ago, for free, and has always been a huge reminder to me of God’s miraculous provision. Every time I take a photo of someone who is poor, I am acting through God’s provi- sion (why hello, paradox!)! Since I am an urban missionary, I rely on [God] and other’s financial partnership to meet basic living expenses, and also to meet special needs that may come up. This is one of those times. I need approx. $1500 to purchase a new camera body(Nikon d300s) that will get me through many more years on the streets! If 15 people gave $100, the camera would be covered. Or if you know someone who would like to donate the whole camera for a tax-de- duction, please contact me. Please pray about partnering with me as I use my skills to help people and further the kingdom of God. Snapshots from the S Bronx [152nd & Courtlandt]

This is myself and a girl named Emily. She is about my age and has a very difficult family life. I was so glad to meet her and give her a little encouragement. My heart went out to her and I wanted to take her home with me.

On the drive into the Bronx we prayed for God’s presence to hit the streets, and it did. This gentleman (an ex-pastor) came up by the van and literally feel to his knees in the dirt, clinging to a tree, crying out and praying to God for forgiveness.

This lady came to get some soup and I asked her if I could pray with her. It turns out she had recently had some sort of heart surgery, so we prayed for continued healing.
