Roadway Projects
• Approximately 80% of NB lanes poured• Piers and Bents completed for northbound
bridge, waiting on cure time to set beams• Work continuing on Retaining Wall south
side of Hickory Slough bridge

• CenterPoint completed one phase of relocation to remove gas line in conflict

Dixie Farm Road
• The jack and bore started August 10, 2010 with a duration of 20 days for each of three runs
• Mykawa-Orange Intersection closure began September 13th
• The railroad shut down the project due to rail deflection issues. These have been abated by slowing the train speed down to 25mph
• Overhead utilities along Mykawa were raised to alleviate a clearance issue for the trucks entering and leaving Pipe and tube Supply’s yard.
Town Ditch Phase III
• TxDOT has verbally agreed to adjust their design to match the Orange Street design
• Engineer is working with AT&T to solve issues that arose as a result of line and equipment relocation
• Bidding scheduled for September 2010
Orange Street
• Coordinating work with TxDOT and BNSF• One parcel remains but we have a ROE• Utilities continuing relocation• LJA has incorporated an add alternate to include
asphalt overlay of the road between Old Alvin and Grand; also between McLean and Austin
• Working with BDD4 to address their concerns with lowering Walnut Street
• Negotiating Construction Management services
Walnut Reconstruction
• 100% plans currently under review• Finalized negotiations on RFP sent to engineer for
amendment to the design contract for plan changes associated with revisions to the Bailey drainage.
• $1.2M overall savings by upsizing the trunkline and taking additional flows to the Cowart Creek Diversion Ditch
• Preparing contract for Noise Impact Analysis services. City requested that services not begin until school returned to session so conditions would be closer to normal
• ROW acquisition underway – 55 of 65 parcels acquired
Bailey Road (Veterans to FM1128)
• Sidewalk, fine grading and sod placement continued• Bridge railings placed, striping completed• Continued work with Centerpoint to install
streetlights along the new roadway• Soundwall contract awarded to John Reed & Co. • Continued to work with design team to resolve
conflicts with utilities• Reconstruction lanes have been opened to traffic

finalize the electrical design for the pump station• ESPA has been authorized to continue their design
based on the revised Bailey drainage plan

Diversion Ditch• East – West corridor acquisition complete• Conoco Phillips pipeline agreement
approved by Council• Dannenbaum optimization study found
overall cost savings of $1.2M by upsizing the Bailey trunkline and sending additional flows to the diversion ditch

• Contractor completing punch list items• Harris completed work at the Bailey pond to
fill in washed out area under pilot channel at outfall to Cowart’s Creek, low spots were also filled in

Old PD Renovations
• Met with the architect to further address the revised scope of the project
• Received the asbestos and lead reports of the jail area which will be used for on-site storage for several City Departments. Asbestos is present in the flooring tile mastic.

• Held interim design review meeting on July 20th
• Conducted Site/Civil plan review July 28th
• Received 90% Construction Documents and distributed for internal review
• Plans in for permitting• Scoping work for the retro-fit of the existing fuel
