By signing this, you as the parent/guardian are verifying that you are giving permission for your child to participate in the spring musical, and you will do your best to support your child’s involvement with this show by working with your child on their lines, songs, and dances (if applicable), picking them up from rehearsals on time, and agreeing to help volunteer where needed. Parents will need to volunteer for at least one performance. By signing this, you are also confirming that all known conflicts are listed on this audition form, and your child will not miss any other rehearsals (unless an emergency arises). With such a small amount of rehearsal time allotted, the musical will need to take top precedence-directly following schoolwork and pre-planned family events. ___________________________________________________________________ Parent/Guardian Signature ___________________________________________________________________ Parent/Guardian Name Printed It is our goal to make this a fun and enjoyable learning experience to all those involved. We expect a high-quality performance will work to make it so. We look forward to embarking on this journey with you and your child! ~Mrs. Ferguson & Ms. Abrahams

Please circle all conflicts you will have between now and the performance date. The rehearsal schedule is as follows – Tuesdays – 2:30-6, Wednesdays 2:30 – 5:30, Thursdays – 2:30 – 5:30. These times are general, detailed rehearsal schedules will be given out once the rehearsal process has begun. If a student misses a rehearsal, they are not guaranteed a spot in that scene or dance. Students missing more than 2 rehearsals may not be cast. ABSOLUTELY NO student should plan on missing a rehearsal the MONTH of April (minus spring break). This is a big show with very little time to pull it together. This must take priority with your student’s scheduling. Thank you.

BREAK A LEG!

Dear Parents,

We are delighted that your child is considering auditioning for the cast of our Spring Musical, Shrek, the Musical. Students will need to learn the material found on Google Classroom.

Please read the following information carefully before signing up to audition: In order to audition you must have a ride home at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, 5:00 on Wednesday/Thursday possibly

earlier depending on auditions, and if you are called back on Friday by 4:30 pm, You must also have returned the permission slip below signed on or before 9AM on Tuesday, January 6th,

CALLBACKS (if needed) will be until 4:30 pm on Friday, January 9th – 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Only those asked to come back need to stay.

Just because you were not asked to stay does not mean you did not make the show!!

A cast list will be posted on Google Classroom Friday night, and on the door of D103 Monday Morning. Rehearsals will start Thursday, January 15th.

Please DO NOT contact us to find out the cast list any sooner than that date.

Being a part of the Musical involves a serious commitment on the part of students and their parents. Below are several guidelines that are strictly followed in order to insure an enjoyable and successful show

experience for everyone. • Rehearsals are usually Wednesday, & Thursday 2:30 – 5:00 pm Tuesdays are 2:30 –6. Detailed

rehearsal schedules will be given at the beginning of each month. • The show is May 1st and 2nd, if your child makes the show; please plan to have the Month prior

to the show(except Spring break) and the week of the show blocked off for dress rehearsals. • If you miss more than One Unexcused Rehearsal, you will be removed from the cast. • An absence is excused only if you are ill and absent from school that day or have a parent’s

written/emailed note given to Mrs. Ferguson at least ONE DAY in advance. Emails received the day of the absence will not be accepted and will be considered an unexcused absence.

*Please do your best to arrange all appointments on non-rehearsal days.

• Cast members and parents must arrange all transportation from rehearsals, and come in to sign out their students. Rides should be waiting for their students at least 10 minutes prior to dismissal.

Being 10 minutes LATE more than 2 times will result in removal from cast!!! If this is not possible please do not audition. The teachers involved have set schedules after our show rehearsals; please

be mindful and respectful of that. • Cast Members must be in good academic standing. If a teacher expresses concern over a student

and their classwork, they may not be considered. • Be respectful of other student actors. Watch the rehearsal from the audience quietly if you are not

On stage or bring something to do (read a book, do your homework, or study your lines). • All parents of cast members are asked to help out with our production in some way, such as scenery

building, painting, finding props and costumes, selling tickets and/or ads for the show. These shows depend completely on the generosity of volunteer adults.

It is our goal to provide a cooperative theatrical experience which builds the confidence of individual

performers and unites the entire cast and crew as a team.

Thank you again for your interest,
