ATTTO is New Zealand’s industry training organisation (ITO) for the Aviation, Tourism, Travel and Museums industries.

We support and work with the Aviation sector on a workforce development strategy, nationally recognised qualifications and workplace training to ensure the sector’s continued growth and economic significance to New Zealand.

In 2009, the New Zealand aviation industry generated $9.7 billion in revenue, with $5.9 billion from domestic activities and $3.8 billion from export activities. There are more than 1,000 organisations participating in the industry, employing over 23,000 staff with wages and salaries estimated at about $1.3 billion.

With more than $3 billion in growth of economic contribution over the 2005 - 2009 period, this industry is significant and poised for further growth. It is projected to contribute $12 billion by 2015.

Integral to this is the continual development of those employed in the sector, along with a steady recruitment flow of high calibre entrants.

More than 2,000 trainees are undertaking Aviation training at any one time. ATTTO has a key role in ensuring the relevance and quality outcomes of qualifications and training to ensure a highly skilled and productive workforce.

We work with both large and small organisations covering everything from Aeronautical Engineering to Flight Attendants and Ground Operations. Our aim is to make a positive difference to businesses and the people that work within them.

Sincerely
