    You are now a proud owner of an SBI Gold International Debit Card issued by the StateBank of India, South Africa.Below are some useful tips about safety of your Card and the precautions to betaken to prevent misuse/fraud.

    General Guidelines / Safety Tips: Sign the back of your card as soon as you receive it. Please do not write your Pin on the card or anywhere else. Please keep the Personal Identification Number (PIN) secret and do not disclose the PIN

    to anybody including a family member or your banker. In case the PIN is divulged, pleasechange your PIN immediately at our Johahnesburg / Durban Branch.

    Giving your card and disclosing PIN to someone is like giving a blank signed cheque. Please refrain from taking help from any stranger in the ATM room. Never let anyone see you enter your PIN. Beware of Shoulder Surfing i.e. shield your PIN from onlookers by using your body.

    Once you complete your transaction, check to ensure that you have your Card and yourreceipt and then leave immediately.

    Please do not allow any other person to stand nearby when you are transacting on theATM and similarly, please maintain a distance if anybody is already inside.

    Please keep a separate note of your card number and associated account number. Theseparticulars will be necessary for blocking the card in case of loss of the card.

    Be alert if you find signs of any external fittings or loose wiring, at the ATM, report to thebank / contact centre and use another ATM. You may contact us at our 24x7 State Bank Contact Centre number is 0800 982 360.

    Taking Care of your Card: Your card is important and must be kept safely. The card must not be kept near a TV. Store your Card in a secure place where you will immediately know if it is missing. Store the SBI Gold International Debit Card carefully so that the magnetic strip/chip does

    not get damaged. Never leave your Card unattended, e.g. in your car, in a hotel room or at work.

    Did you know?

    You can get cash from State Bank ATMs anywhere and at any time or from any ATM thatbears MasterCard logo.

    You can check your account balance at an ATM. You can print the last few transactions of your account through SBI ATMs. The Card with your signature can be used for payment of bills at shops, restaurants,

    petrol station etc. which display the MasterCard logo.

    Please note that the Bank bears no liability for the unauthorized use of the Card and thecardholder must assume full responsibility for all use of the card.

    USING YOUR SBI GOLD INTERNATIONAL DEBIT CARDFOR CASH WITHDRAWALS FROM ATMs

    Enjoy the convenience of using your SBI Gold InternationalDebit Card for withdrawing cash from State Bank ATMs or any

    ATM displaying Master Card logo.

    Step 1:Insert your card into the ATM at the slot indicated. Incase the ATM is a dip card ATM, dip the card in the slot andtake it back.

    Step 2:In Select ATMs, the ATM will then prompt you to selectthe language in which you desire to interact.

    Step 3:Next, the ATM will prompt you to key in the PersonalIdentification Number (PIN). Please take care to key in thecorrect PIN. After the PIN input, the ATM processes theinformation and if it is found correct, guides you step by step

    for conducting transactions. If the wrong PIN is entered thrice,the Card will be invalidated for the rest of the day.

    Step 4:At this stage, options will appear on the screen andyou can choose the appropriate option from Fast Cash, CashWithdrawal, PIN Change and Mini Statement at State Bank

    Group ATMs.

    Step 5:If you have no further transactions, please collect yourCard. The Card should be collected as soon as it is ejected(within 30 seconds) or else it will be retained by the ATM.

    In such an event, please contact the ATM-linked Bank or theBranch at which you maintain your account (Not applicable fordip card ATM). In case of Dip Card ATMs, you will have to dipyour card and input your PIN for each transaction.

    Note:

    (i) It may be noted that your State Bank Group ATMs havebeen customized in such a way that only 40 pieces of

    currency notes will be dispensed through one transaction.In case you need more money, we request you to carry outmultiple transactions.

    (ii) Some of the ATMs may have a maximum cash dispensinglimit per transaction. In case the amount you seek towithdraw is greater than the maximum cash-dispensing

    limit, you may do multiple transactions up to the overalldaily limit.

    (iii) You can also use your SBI Gold International Debit Cardat ATMs of other Banks which are part of the MasterCardnetwork. Just look for the MasterCard / Cirrus logos

    at participating ATMs.

    USING YOUR INTERNATIONAL DEBITCARD AT MERCHANT ESTABLISHMENTS

    Going shopping? All you need is your SBI Gold InternationalDebit Card and you can shop till you drop!

    Step 1:Look for the MasterCard logoand present your card to shopkeeper.

    Step 2: The shopkeeper swipes/insertsyour card on the terminal and keys inthe purchase amount.

    Step 3: In seconds, the terminal processesthe transaction and prints the transactionreceipt.

    Step 4: Check the amount on thecharge slip and sign on it.

    Step 5: The transaction is now complete.

    You will be handed a copy of the transactionreceipt and your SBI Gold InternationalDebit Card.

    Using your SBI Gold InternationalDebit Card over Internet

    Shopping online? All you need is your SBI International DebitCard and you can shop at your convenience.

    Step 1: Go to merchant website.

    Step 2: After selecting the goods & services desired, go tothe payment page.

    Step 3: Enter your State Bank Gold International DebitCard number and the online store will connect withSBI to check whether your Card is secured withMasterCard SecureCode.

    Step 4: An SBI MasterCard Secure Code pop-up windowappears on your computer screen that includes your

    Personal Message. Look for and confirm yourPersonal Message, then enter your password. SBI willthen confirm your identity to the online store.

    Step 5: The transaction is now complete and your orderis placed.

    Creating Your MasterCard SecureCode Password

    Step 1: Contact the Branch for registering your mobilenumber.

    Step 2: Setting up of SecureCode Password

    In case you have not registered for MasterCardSecureCode earlier, you will have two options forregistering your debit card.

    You can log onto www.statebank.co.za and canregister the debit card.

    You can also register your card during shopping on

    the Internet.

    While registering your debit card, you will be able toset the SecureCode password of your choice. It ismandatory that you have done a mobile registrationthrough the branch. You can do a registrationthrough www.statebank.co.za only on the next day.

    Step 3: Setting Password at www.statebank.co.za

    Click on the Secure Card Transactions link inwww.statebank.co.za

    Click on MasterCard SecureCode

    Click on Register Now

    Enter the valid card number and mobile number.

    The mobile number should start with the countrycode (For South Africa country code is 27).

    On entering valid card number and mobile number, a4 digit authcode will be sent to the registered mobilenumber.

    You will enter the auth code in the next page and

    click on next.

    Set up the Secure Code password.

    On successful set-up of secure code password youwill be presented with a successful response page.

    Step 4: Setting Password during shopping on Internet

    You will do the shopping/bill payment and selectpayment through debit card.

    You will be asked to register for SecureCode if youare not yet registered (provided your mobile numberis already registered).

    If you have already registered your mobile number,you will be asked for the mobile number.

    Auth code will be send to your mobile number, whichyou will enter in the required text box.

    You will be asked to create your SecureCodepassword.

    After creation of SecureCode password, you can

    continue with your transaction.

    TERMS & CONDITIONS

    Definitions

    (a) Bank:State Bank of India, South Africa.

    (b) Card: SBI Gold International Debit Card, issued tothe customer by SBI, South Africa in association withMasterCard International.

    (c) Card Holder: A customer who has been issued an SBIGold International Debit Card.

    (d) ATM:All ATMs of State Bank Group as well as ATMs ofother banks with the logos of MasterCard and Cirrus in

    and oustside South Africa .

    (e) PIN: The cardholder is initially allotted a computergenerated 4 digit PIN (Personal Identification Number)which will be collected from the card issuing branch in asecured and sealed PIN mailer.

    (f) Merchant Establishments (MEs):MEs shall include shops,stores, restaurant, hotels, commercial establishment, etc.in South Africa and abroad advertised as handling thecards by displaying MasterCard logo or by any othermeans.

    (g) POS Terminal: Point of Sale (POS) electronic terminals atan ME in South Africa or abroad at which the customercan use the cards to make purchase by debiting hisaccount with the Bank.

    (h) Designated Account: The current or saving bankaccount (designated by the cardholder), to which all theamounts authorized/dues payable by the cardholder areto be debited.

    (i) Customer Branch:The Branch at which the designatedaccount is maintained by the cardholder.

    (j) Privileges: Any discount scheme which may be givenby an ME, at its discretion from time to time for givingbenefits to the cardholder.

    (k) International Transaction: A transaction entered by

    the cardholder through this card outside South Africaat an ATM or POS.

    (l) Transaction: Transaction includes cash withdrawals,making payments for purchases made/services availedat Merchant Establishments, availing other services byutilizing the card at ATMs, MEs or POS terminals.

    (m) State Bank ATMs:All ATMs of State Bank Group.

    Terms and conditions under which the InternationalDebit Card has been issued are given below:

    (a) PIN: The PIN is used for withdrawing cash at an ATM.The PIN should be safeguarded carefully. Using thewrong PIN three times will invalidate the card for therest of the day. PIN change option is available at ourJohahnesburg and Durban Branches or any SBI Group ATM

    across the world. While selecting a PIN, the cardholderis advised to avoid a PIN which can be easily associatedwith him/her (e.g. telephone number, date of birth etc.)Besides, the selected PIN value should not comprise:

    A sequence from the associated account numbers

    A string of the same numberHistorically significant dates

    It is the cardholders responsibility to ensure that theknowledge of the PIN/PIN Mailer does not fall into anyother persons hands. The Bank bears no liability for theunauthorized use of the card. The responsibility is fullythat of the cardholder. If you suspect that the PIN isdivulged, you can change the PIN by visiting a State BankGroup ATM. If you are not in the position to visit a StateBank ATM, please ensure that the card always remains inyour possession till a new PIN is received. You can applyfor a new PIN through the Contact Centre / Branch. The

    PIN will be generated after verifying the identity of thecardholder (in the manner as described in case of lost cardbelow) and delivered through his Branch in the manner asis done in case of delivery of the card and earlier PIN.

    Some useful tips about safekeeping of your card and

    precautions to be taken to prevent fraud/misuse are asfollows:

    Please change your PIN to a four digit number of yourchoice, memorise it and destroy the PIN mailer.

    Please do not write your PIN on the card oranywhere else.

    Please refrain from taking help from strangers whiletransacting through your ATM card at ATMs.

    Please do not allow any other person inside the ATMroom when you are transacting and wait outside ifanybody is already inside.

    Since an unauthorised person can access the ATM serviceson the cardholders account if he gains the card and the

    PIN, the card should remain in cardholders possession andshould not be handed over to anyone else.

    (b) (i) Loss of Card: Please keep a separate note of your card number and

    associated account number in a place readily accessible.

    The cardholder should immediately notify the State BankContact Centre regarding the loss of the card at 0800 982360. The call centre will ask for some information aboutthe cardholder to verify the identity of the caller.

    Any financial loss arising out of unauthorised use of the

    card, till such time as the bank hotlists the card (disablingthe utilisation of the card), will be to the cardholdersaccount.

    (ii) Replacement of the Card:The cardholder shall writeto the customer branch regarding loss of the card anddate of informing the State Bank Contact Centre Branchand request for replacement of the card. On receipt of therequest, the branch will arrange for issue of a new cardagainst the lost card at a cost .

    (c) Debits to Customers Account: The Bank has theauthority of the cardholder to debit the designated

    account of the cardholder for all withdrawals effected bythe cardholder by using the card as evidenced bythe Banks records which will be conclusive and bindingon the cardholder. The cardholder authorises the Bank todebit the designated account with service charges (if any)notified by the Bank from time to time.

    (d) Transactions: The transactions record generated by theATM or POS will be binding on the cardholder and it willbe conclusive unless verified otherwise and corrected bythe Bank. The verified and corrected amounts will bebinding on the cardholder.

    (e) Closing of Account:The cardholder wishing to close thedesignated account and surrender the Debit Card will givethe Bank notice in writing and surrender the card alongwith the notice.

    (f) Validity of Card:The SBI Gold International Debit Cardwill be valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

    (g) Contact Centre: For more information and help

    the customer can contact our Contact Centre at0800 982 360 or e-mail at [email protected] or write to State Bank of India, The Mall Offices3rd Floor, JHI House, 11 Cradock Avenue, Rosebank,Johannesburg.

    (h) Specimen signature of the Customer Must Tally:Thecardholder shall sign the card on the reverse as per thespecimen signature in the Banks record.

    (i) Range of ServicesStatement of Account:A mini statement of the account

    can be obtained at a State Bank Group ATM during theworking hours of the Customers Branch.

    Balance Enquiry:Cardholder can view the balance in thedesignated account and also obtain a transaction receiptindicating the balance.

    Conversion of foreign currency amount will be done atrates decided by the various parties involved. Bank shallnot be responsible for the rate of conversion or fluctuationin the exchange rate and such rate of conversion shall bebinding on the customer. The debit in the cardholdersaccount will be in South African Rand.

    (k) Other important conditions governing the transactions:

    The debit card service is meant for withdrawals against thebalance already available in the designated account. It isthe cardholders obligation to maintain sufficient balancein the designated account to meet withdrawals and servicecharges.

    Where the ATM is not running online, the transaction in theATM will be accounted for on the same/next working day.

    The Bank at its discretion may amend the Terms andConditions governing ATM services and this card. Cardholderswill be notified of such changes through notification on the

    Banks website which will be binding on the cardholders.

    The Bank reserves the right to introduce new facilitiesor remove existing facilities as and when warrantedwithout assigning any reason for the same.

    The Bank may at its discretion refuse any applicationfor the card without assigning any reason.

    Fees charged (if any) for the use of the card are notrefundable under any circumstances.

    The Bank has the right to withdraw the privilegesattached to the card and to call upon the cardholderto surrender the card through the ME or theirrepresentative or any other representative of theBank without assigning any reason.

    Use of the card shall be terminated without notice,upon the death, bankruptcy or insolvency of thecardholder; or on receipt of a letter from any oneof the joint account holders changing the operativeclause, receipt of an attachment order from a

    competent court or revenue authority or for othervalid reasons or when the whereabouts of thecardholder become unknown to the Bank due toany cause attributable to the cardholder.

    The Bank is not responsible/liable for failure of anyATM to dispense cash or if the customer is unableto withdraw cash for any reason whatsoever or isunable to avail any facility mentioned herein.

    The Bank is not responsible for the refusal by anyME to accept or honor the card, nor shall it beresponsible in any respect for the goods or services

    supplied to the cardholder. The cardholder shallhandle or resolve all claims of disputes directly withsuch establishments and no claim by the cardholderagainst the ME is subject to a set off or counterclaimagainst the Bank. The cardholders account will becredited only on receipt of money from the ME or the

    acquirer.

    The Bank will not be responsible for furnishingoriginal bills of the ME to the cardholder.

    The cardholder will collect from the ME, the

    cardholders copy of the transaction receipt and willpreserve the same for his personal record.

    The Bank at its discretion will approve/reject any cardtransactions.

    A transaction put through by utilizing the card atthe ATM or POS terminal shall be binding on thecustomer.

    The cardholder should not countermand an orderwhich he has given by means of his card.

    The Bank shall not be liable for any loss caused by atechnical break down of the payment system.

    The card is the property of the Bank and will bereturned by the cardholder unconditionally and

    immediately to the Bank upon request by the Bank.The Bank reserves the right to cancel the card andstop its operations unilaterally without assigning anyreason. The decision of the Bank is conclusive andbinding on the cardholder.

    The card is non-transferable.
