The volleyball program has assisted athletes in their transition to four-year play with women transferring to Portland State, University of Portland, Willamette, Washington State and Gonzaga to name a few. The coaching staff is committed to helping the team members reach their athletic and academic potential.

The Mt. Hood volleyball program has an outstanding winning tradition which leads to high expectations each and every season.

The Saints follow a competitive schedule featuring league and conference play with community colleges throughout the Northwest, as well as matches with some of the four-year colleges.

Quick attacks and aggressive defense are the keys to the Saints’ success.

Our athletes have the privilege of training and competing in one of the finest track & field stadiums in the Pacific Northwest.

We take great pride in our men and women’s cross country and track & field programs. Over the past several years we have placed numerous student-athletes into quality 4-year programs around the United States.

The geography surrounding our campus is ideally suited for year-round training and racing; moreover, our athletes are offered a number of performance-oriented opportunities that are unprecedented by community college standards.

We offer a competitive schedule that allows our teams to travel within four states – California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington – seeking the highest quality competition. In addition, MHCC has a stable core of young and energetic event-specific coaches who possess the necessary expertise to ensure top-flight athletic development. Simply said, our cross country and track & field programs are top-of-the-line.

MEN’S BASKETBALLMHCC has an impressive basketball history, with the coaching staff emphasizing the development of the “whole person” – personal growth, academic improve-ment and athletic progress.

The Saints play an up-tempo style of fastbreak offense combined with multiple pressure defenses designed to take advantage of opponents’ mistakes.

Fundamentals and discipline are emphasized along with aggressive physical play and teamwork.

A great geographic location, one of the most outstanding facilities in the NWAACC, and strong administrative support combine to give Ht. Hood athletes an opportunity to be part of a championship-level program.

The MHCC women have a reputation for tenacious defense, up-tempo pace and a “never say die” attitude.

In addition to turning in fine performances on the court, the Lady Saints are outstanding in the classroom, as are all the Saints student/athletes.

The emphasis on academic excellence is reflected in our athletes’ graduation rate, which is significantly higher than the graduation rate of the general student population.

The Lady Saints are a part of the rich tradition of NWAACC Southern region basketball. Long known as one of the toughest regions in the NWAACC, the league schedule will provide you with the opportunity to compete against the best.

SOFTBALL

Part of this success is due to a strong coaching staff whose leadership and guidance work toward the development of each athlete’s capabilities. This development begins in the preseason, with annual trips to Southern California where the Saints take on some of the best teams in the nation.

SOFTBALL MHCC softball has quickly become one of the top programs in the Northwest, qualifying for the NWAACC championships nearly every year since the team’s inception.

Players walk off the field with the knowledge and confidence to be winners in softball and in life.

Our athletes work hard and learn what it takes to be the best at the college level.

MHCC has a superb baseball tradition, steeped in wins and successful achievements. Since 1968, the Saints have had more than 900 wins, have captured several Southern Region championships and have regularly represented the Southern Region at the NMAACC Tournament, with multiple championships and several placings.

Many former Saint student/athletes have advanced to four-year schools to continue their base-ball careers.

In addition, more than 50 athletes have signed professional contracts and several have advanced to the major leagues.
