PROJECT STAGING

‘The Terraces’ project will be completed in 2 stages.

Stage 1 – Commenced in November 2015 and includes construction of the new 100 bed aged care facility, 18 new senior’s apartments as well as restoration and adaptive conversion of the Scottish Hospital into 9 senior’s apartments, encompassing the southern and eastern sides of the site. Stage 2 – At the completion of Stage 1 the residents of the existing aged care facility will decant and move to the new building and construction of the remaining 52 senior’s apartments will commence in place of the existing care facility on the western side of the site.

ROAD CLOSURES & DISRUPTIONS

Safe access to the existing Residential Aged Care Facility for pedestrians and vehicles throughout the project is of key importance to the project team and we have carefully considered how we will minimise disruption to current users during the planning of all stages of the works. All the current road access routes to the aged care facility will be maintained. Brookfield Multiplex will continue to provide updates on any future road closures or disruptions to surrounding neighbours through this newsletter and/or letter box drops. Power will be shut down for a few hours to complete the cable bundling works. Affected neighbours will be notified by the authorised subcontractor (Wilken) prior to the power shutdown. Materials handling will be managed within the site including concrete pumping, deliveries and logistics as far as possible.
